(11/072) People who lost their lives in a fire in Kocaeli…
On November 8, 2025, it was reported that six people, including two children, lost their lives and seven others were injured in a fire that broke out at a factory in the Dilovası district of Kocaeli. It was reported that 11 people, including the factory owner, were detained in connection with the fire.
The names of those who lost their lives are: Esma Dikan, Hanım Gülek, Şengül Yılmaz, Nisa Taşdemir (17), Tuğba Taşdemir, and Cansu Esatoğlu (16).

According to news reports on November 9, 2025, Ali Dilmen, an inmate held at Kocaeli Kandıra Type F Prison No. 2 who was on an indefinite hunger strike demanding the closure of Type Y and S prisons, had salt and sugar in his cell confiscated by prison guards during a search, along with a bird he was feeding.

On November 9, 2025, nine members of the Youth Committees were detained for participating in a protest over a fire in the Dilovası district of Kocaeli that claimed the lives of six people, including two children. were arrested on November 10, 2025, by the magistrate’s court to which they were referred on charges of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility.” Five were released on judicial control conditions. The names of those detained could not be learned.

On November 6, 2025, Emrah Peküs, who was detained for sharing a photo of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor and his wife on his social media account, was arrested on November 8, 2025, by the magistrate’s court to which he was referred on charges of “targeting individuals involved in the fight against terrorism” and “violating the privacy of private life.”

On November 8, 2025, it was learned that three people were detained in Bursa as part of an investigation into the Nilüfer Municipality.

On November 10, 2025, it was learned from news reports that a person named A.Y. was detained in the Akhisar district of Manisa for tearing an Atatürk poster.

On November 10, 2025, it was reported in the press that an investigation had been launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against BirGün editor Kayhan Ayhan on the grounds of a news story he had written, and that the journalist had given a statement to the prosecutor’s office.
(11/079) Decision of “No Grounds for Prosecution” Regarding Racist and Sexist Posts Targeting Human Rights Defender…
According to news reports on November 10, 2025, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office decided that there were “no grounds for prosecution” regarding a criminal complaint filed against racist and sexist posts made on social media targeting Eren Keskin, Co-Chair of the Human Rights Association (İHD).

On October 29, 2024, Delal Gencer lost her life and Vedat Gencer was injured in a racist attack. The trial of Hasan Kamış and Meryem Kamış, which was opened at the Ankara Polatlı Heavy Penal Court, continued on November 7, 2025. The indictment seeks punishment for Hasan Kamış for the crimes of “intentional killing of a woman” and “attempted murder” and for Meryem Kamış for the crime of “incitement.” The court postponed the hearing until November 12, 2025.

On October 1, 2025, the trials of three persons, two of whom are children, in connection with the attack on Evren Demirdaş, regional representative of the Sözcü newspaper, commenced on November 7, 2025, at the Elazığ Criminal Court of First Instance No. 6 and the Elazığ Juvenile Court. The indictments seek punishment for the three individuals for the crime of “intentional injury.” The courts decided to release all three defendants and postponed the hearings to January 13, 2026 (the case being heard at the Elazığ 6th Criminal Court of First Instance) and January 20, 2026 (the case being heard at the Elazığ Juvenile Court).

According to news reports on November 7, 2025, 18 indictments prepared against 12 parliamentary members requesting the lifting of their immunity were sent to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
