3 gendarmerie soldiers were killed and 6 soldiers were wounded when a trapped bomb exploded on 19 May 2016 in Nusaybin district of Mardin.
YPS General Coordination announced on 19 May 2016 that YPS members Yusuf Altıdal (Serxwebun Mardin) and Ali Akman (Zagros Cilo) were killed during the armed clashes on 17 May 2016 in Şırnak.

A court case was reportedly launched against D.K. in connection with the comments s/he shared with the hashtags #DirenSur (ResistSur) and #YalnızDeğilsin (YoureNotAlone). S/he was detained in Konyalatı district of Antalya and arrested on 14 April 2016 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation” and “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”. Antalya Heavy Penal Court No 2 will start to hear the case on 22 June 2016.

According to the news appeared in the press on 19 May 2016, a court case was launched against 46 persons for signing the petition “If demanding peace is a crime, we do take part in this crime” to support the signatories of the petition “Academics for Peace”. The indictment wants the defendants to be sentenced for “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”.
Söke (Aydın) Heavy Penal Court No 2 will start to hear the case on 19 October 2016.

Ahmet Çetiner, Mevlüt Toprak, Pelda Arşimet, Remzi Akkaya, Veysi Birol, Özgür Bulut and Ekrem Yapıcı who were among 12 persons detained during house raids in Diyarbakır were arrested on 19 May 2016 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
İbrahim Ötker who was detained in Dargeçit district of Mardin and Erdal Kotan who was detained in Pertek district of Tunceli were arrested on 19 May 2016 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
