(08/001) Operations and Attacks in the Southeast…
One soldier died and 8 soldiers were wounded when a mine exploded during passage of a military convoy on 2 August 2015 in Midyat district of Mardin.
A suicide bomb attack was organised on 2 August 2015 against Karabulak Gendarmerie Station in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı. The attack was organised with a tractor full of explosives. At least 2 soldiers and one PKK militant died, 31 soldiers were wounded.
Turkish Air Forces bombed Kandil Mountain and neighbouring regions on 1 August 2015. According to the news appeared in the press, the civilian village Zergelê was also targeted and 10 persons died during the attack. While General Staff alleged that there were no civilians in the village, Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the allegations will be investigated.
One non-commissioned officer died when a mine exploded during passage of a military convoy on 1 August 2015 in Kağızman district of Kars.
Governorate of Tunceli announced on 2 August 2015 that 14 regions including Tunceli city centre and several districts in the province were decided to be military security zones for 15 days. Governorate of Ağrı also took the decision that Ağrı and Tendürek mountains were decided to be military security zones for 15 days. Entrance of civilians to the military security zones was also banned.
A police officer was wounded on 1 August 2015 when a bomb in a dumpster exploded in İdil district of Şırnak.
The road between Kars and Kağızman district was closed on 1 August 2015 when a vehicle was set to fire. A First Lieutenant reportedly died during an explosion on the road.
2 soldiers were wounded when a mine exploded during passage of a military convoy on 3 August 2015 in Silvan district of Diyarbakır.
A police officer was wounded when a mine exploded during passage of a police vehicle on 4 August 2015 in Nusaybin district of Mardin.
2 soldiers and one temporary village guard died when a mine exploded during passage of gendarmerie troop on 4 August 2015 nearby Balveren town of Şırnak. One soldier and one temporary village guard were also wounded.
(08/002) Suruç Massacre…
Vatan Budak who was wounded during the explosion in Suruç district of Şanlıurfa died on 3 August 2015 in the hospital Kartal district of İstanbul. The number of persons died during the attack reached 32.
(08/003) Worker Deaths…
Worker’s Health and Job Safety Assembly announced on 3 August 2015 that at least 166 workers died in July 2015 during work accidents due to untaken security measures. At least 971 workers died in first 7 months of 2015.
(08/004) Pressures in Prisons…
According to the news appeared in the press on 2 August 2015, Ozan Oğuz and another prisoner incarcerated in Kırıklar (İzmir) F-type Prison No 2 were transferred to Silivri L-type Prison No 2 allegedly because of the letter of Ozan Oğuz released on daily Cumhuriyet with the title “Even the colours are forbidden in this prison”.

According to the news appeared in the press on 3 August 2015, Erol Zavar incarcerated in Sincan (Ankara) F-type Prison No 1 an suffering from bladder cancer was reportedly given 2 months of solitary confinement. By the end of his sentence, Erol Zavar fainted when he was with a friend and hospitalised.
(08/006) Demonstration by Civil Servants Prevented…
The police intervened the members of civil servants’ union KESK wanted to march to Ministry of Labour and Social Security on 3 August 2015 in Ankara. The unionists wanted to present their opinions on the collective bargaining with the temporary government, but the police dispersed the crowd by using tear gas. 2 persons were wounded and 2 persons were detained during the intervention.
(08/007) Protest Intervened in Adana…
The police intervened the demonstration staged on 2 August 2015 in Adana to protest in the killing of 10 civilians in Zergelê village. The police used real bullets to disperse the crowd and 3 persons were wounded during the intervention.
(08/008) March Prevented in Diyarbakır…
The police prevented the march “Yüzbinlerle Önderliğin özgürlüğü için yürüyoruz (Hundreds of Thousands marching for the freedom of Leadership)” planned to be started on 1 August 2015 from Diyarbakır to Gemlik district of Bursa. The police dispersed the crowd by using rubber bullets and 3 persons were wounded.

Justice and Development Party (AKP) office in a neighbourhood in Kartal district of İstanbul was thrown a blast bomb on 1 August 2015. The attack caused material damage.

Fatih Yılmaz who was detained during a house raid conducted in Bulanık district of Muş in connection with a “PKK Investigation” was arrested on 1 August 2015 on the allegations of “aiding and abetting an illegal organisation”.
M.E.O. (17) who was detained after being shot and heavily wounded during the police intervention against a protest on 26 July 2015 in Cizre district of Şırnak was arrested on 1 August 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
30 persons including Democratic Regions Party (DBP) executives were detained during house raids on 1 August 2015 in Eskişehir, Tekman district of Erzurum, and Siirt.
In Iğdır Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair for Iğdır Central District Fincan Güngör, in Bingöl DBP Co-Chair for Bingöl province Mervan Temiz, Murat Karaca, Delil Uğurlu, Orhan Bayatimur, F.T. and K.S., in Malatya university students Ömer Çalbay, Mahsun Yel ve Rıdvan Açan ile Sinan Özdemir, Ali Gelincik, Eren Aslan were arrested on 1 August 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation” and “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”.
According to the news appeared in the press, 20 university students were detained during house raids conducted on 2 August 2015 in Antalya province and Alanya district in connection with a “PKK Investigation”.
Harun Erkuş, Co-Mayor in Lice district of Diyarbakır, and Abdullah Hocaoğlu who were detained during house raids were arrested on 2 August 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
Şükrü İlhan (39) and Şükrü Çetin (44) who were detained in Dargeçit district of Mardin were arrested on 2 August 2015 on the allegations of “aiding and abetting an illegal organisation”.
Şehmus Aksoy, DBP Co-chair for Savur district in Mardin, and Gülistan Gültekin who were detained during house raids were arrested on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
Vehbi Babur, DBP Co-chair for Çatak district in Van, Nahut Babur, Hasan Sidal, Mehmet Böge, Semih Semo were detained during house raids in Çatak.
The police conducted house raids in Kızıltepe district of Mardin and Varto district of Muş. 15 members and executives of DBP were detained during the operations.
The police conducted operations in Muş, Diyarbakır, Batman, Erzurum, Bitlis and Mersin against the members of HDP, DBP and YDG-H. 33 persons were detained.
The police conducted operations on 4 August 2015 in Gaziosmanpaşa and Sultangazi districts of İstanbul in connection with a “DHKP-C (Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party – Front) Investigation”. At least 4 persons were reportedly detained.
