It is learned from the news coverage of April 7, 2026 that, Mahmut Aba, a prisoner in Kocaeli Kandıra F Type Prison No 2 was demanded 5.000 Turkish Liras translation fee for a Kurdish book sent to him.
It is learned from the news coverage of April 8, 2026 that, personal belongings of prisoners in Kırşehir High Security Prison were scattered and literary works of prisoners were seized during searches in the rooms where prisoners were kept. It is also stated in the news reports that the number of books that prisoners can keep with them is limited to 24.

5 people who were detained through an investigation against Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and released on judicial control conditions were detained again on April 8, 2026 upon the objection of the prosecutor’s office and arrested. Accordingly, the number of detainees through the investigation is 35.

The trial of the case against 11 association executives of Genç LGBTI+ Association, which was dissolved by a court decision in 2025, started on April 8, 2026 at Izmir Criminal Court of First Instance No 47. The indictment demands 11 people to be sentenced for “violating the Law on Associations”. After defenses the court adjourned the trial to October 14, 2026.

The first trial of the case against 6 members of Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Youth Assembly, 5 of whom are arrested, for participating in a protest in Diyarbakır on October 18, 2025, started on April 7, 2026 at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 6. The indictment demands sentence for 6 people on the charges of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’, ‘resisting the police’, ‘intentional injury against a public officer’, ‘damaging public property’. The court released Yusuf Demirpolat, Süleyman Kahraman, Halit Konuk, Haşim Kutluk and Özcan Dal and adjourned the trial to June 16, 2026.
