According to Bianet’s “Male Violence Register,” at least 32women and 4 children were killed by men across Turkey in March 2026. The statement also stated that men inflicted violence on at least 37 women, harassed 28 women, abused 11 children and forced 19 women to sex work.

It is learned that 1 militant died and 2 police officers and 2 militants were wounded in a clash in front of the Israeli Consulate in Beşiktaş district of Istanbul on April 7, 2026.

It is learned from the news coverage of April 6, 2026 that, Esra Işık, a life defender who was arrested for protests against expropriation of agricultural lands around Akbelen forest and was put in a prison in Muğla, was transferred to Izmir Şakran Women’s Prison against her will.
It is learned from the news coverage of April 7, 2026 that, Ilyas Bulut, an ill prisoner who reportedly attempted suicide twice before, is kept in a single room in Kırşehir High Security Closed Prison.

On April 7, 20 people including Deputy Mayor Filiz Deveci are detained through an investigation against Üsküdar Municipality in Istanbul on April 7, 2026.

3 people who were detained through an investigation against Bolu Municipality and released on judicial control conditions on April 6, 2026, are detained again on the same day upon objection of prosecutor’s office and are arrested.

Through the investigation initiated after the Newroz celebration in Ağrı, 21 people including children are detained on April 7, 2026, on the grounds of slogans chanted and banners carried.
Through the investigation initiated after Newroz celebration in Hakkari, 11 people are detained in central, Çukurca and Yüksekova districts on April 7, 2026. It is learned that 5 people were released after statement procedures at the police and 6 people are still under custody.
(04/039) Investigation Against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor…
On April 7, 2026, it is learned from news coverage of April 7, 2026 that Istanbul Bakırköy Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, on the grounds of ‘insulting a public officer for his duty’, for his statements in his defence in the case.

The trial of the case against journalists Esra Solin Dal, Mehmet Aslan and Erdoğan Alayumat continued on April 7, 2026 at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 25. The indictment demands sentence for journalists on the charge of ‘being an illegal organization member’. The court adjourned the trial to June 9, 2026.
Esra Solin Dal, Mehmet Aslan and Erdoğan Alayumat were arrested on April 26, 2024 and released by Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 25 on May 21, 2024.

The retrial of the case against journalist Neşe İdil, who was sentenced to 1 year and 3 months by Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 22 on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’, started on April 7, 2026. The court adjourned the trial to April 22, 2026.

On April 7, 2026, it is learned that Republican People’s Party (CHP) district office in Şehzadeler district of Manisa was attacked with stones and material damage was caused. It is reported that a person named Y.T. surrendered to the police station.
