On March 30, 2026 it is learned from the news coverage of March 30, 2026 that 2 prisoners, Müjdat Pülat and Übeyit Temel, who were transferred to Kilis L Type Prison from Nizip and Van prisons, were put in solitary rooms because they reject to be put in wards for judicial prisoners.

The police prevented the march on March 29, 2026 from a park to the dock area in Kadıköy district of Istanbul, about pressures and arrests against journalists.

(03/131) Detained People for Newroz Celebrations…

8 of 13 people including 3 children who were detained through the investigation initiated after Newroz celebration in Istanbul are arrested by the criminal court of peace on March 27, 2026 on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’. 5 people were released on judicial control conditions.

1 of 16 people who were detained through the investigation initiated after Newroz celebration in Bitlis, is arrested by the criminal court of peace on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ on March 27, 2026. 15 people were released, 11 of them on judicial control conditions.

It is learned that 4 people are detained in Uşak on March 30, 2026 through an Istanbul based investigation against Uşak Municipality and are brought to Istanbul.

On March 27, 20 people are detained in house raids in İdil and Cizre districts of Şırnak on the allegations of ‘making propaganda of an illegal organization’.

(03/134) Detained People Through Investigation Against Antalya Metropolitan Municipality

Through an investigation against Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, 2 people including an advisor of Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek are detained on March 30, 2026.

(03/135) Investigation Against Party Chairman…

On March 29, 2026, it is learned from news coverage of March 29, 2026 that Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation against Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairperson and Manisa MP Özgür Özel, on the grounds of ‘insulting the President’, for his speech at his party’s meeting in Kuşadası district of Aydın.

The trial of the case against Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), on the grounds of his statement about the expert witness in the cases he is on trial, continued on March 30, 2026 at Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance. The indictment demands sentence for Ekrem İmamoğlu on the charges of ‘attempting to influence fair trial’ and ‘attempting to influence judicial officials’. The court adjourned the trial to July 13, 2026.

It is learned that Istanbul Bakırköy Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation on the same day, on the grounds of ‘insulting and threatening a public officer for his duty’, on the grounds of the defence made at the hearing of the case at Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No 2 on March 30, 2026.

(03/138) Human Rights Defender on Trial in Diyarbakır…

The first trial of the case against human rights defender Nimet Tanrıkulu for participating in the Newroz celebration in Diyarbakır in 2012, started on March 30, 2026 at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 8. The indictment demands sentence for Nimet Tanrıkulu on the charge of ‘being an illegal organization member’. The court adjourned the trial to May 22, 2026.

Nimet Tanrıkulu, who was detained on November 26, 2024 in Istanbul and was arrested on November 29, 2024 in Ankara, was released on March 4, 2025.

(03/140) Journalist on Trial in Istanbul…

The trial of the case against journalist Zafer Arapkirli on the grounds of a social media post continued on March 27, 2026 at Istanbul 23rd Criminal Court of First Instance. The indictment demands sentence for the journalist on the charges of ‘inciting the public to hatred and hostility’ and ‘publicly disseminating misleading information’. The court adjourned the trial to April 14, 2026.

(03/141) People on Trial in Istanbul…

The first trial of the case against 4 people (Doğukan Mağol, Hamit Akay, Yunus Emre Öksüz and Emir Sağlam) who were detained and arrested during the police intervention to the protest against the attacks against Kurds in Syria on January 10, 2026, started on March 27, 2026 at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 2. The court released 4 people and adjourned the trial to July 3, 2026.

The final hearing of the case against 139 people for participating in the protests against the arrest of IBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was held at Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance No 49 on March 30, 2026. The court acquitted 139 people on the charge of ‘violating Law No 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations’.

The trial of the case against CHP worker Gökhan Gülyurt, on the grounds of driving his party bus into police officers who warned him to stop, is held at Ankara Penal Court of First Instance No 72 on March 30, 2026. The indictment demands sentence for Gökhan Gülyurt on the charge of ‘resisting to prevent the execution of duty in a chain’. The court adjourned the trial to April 13, 2026.

It is learned that “Solidarity Night with Socialist Prisoners”, which was to be held at Ali Emiri Efendi Cultural Center in Fatih district of Istanbul on March 28, 2026, is banned by Fatih Sub-Governorate on the grounds of “public order and security concerns” on March 27, 2026.

(03/145) Discriminatory and Phobic Speeches of MP and RTÜK Chairperson…

It is learned from news coverage of March 26, 2026 that, during the discussion of a research motion on representations of violence in television series and its social effects, submitted by Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) at the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT), Justice and Development Party (AKP) Istanbul MP Büşra Paker made the following phobic and discriminatory statements in her speech “It is not possible for us to accept this research proposal in which you hide behind the guise of gender and try to insert confusing terms such as LGBT plus and minus (…) We continue to work to ensure that men and women in society can live in peace. I say that we will not allow the existence of third and fifth genders in our society, which you want to introduce in this way.”

It is learned from the news coverage of March 30, 2026 that Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) President Mehmet Daniş made the following phobic and discriminatory statements in his speech at an event “The protection of the family, unfortunately, we can see how much the family is actually under threat in this digital transformation, especially if we consider the LGBT imposition, which started with the freedom debates and has become even stronger on digital platforms that have turned into huge campaigns today.”

(03/146) Disciplinary Penalties Against Football Team…

It is learned from the news coverage of March 27, 2026 that Manisa 1965 Nurlupınar Gençlergücü Spor was referred to the Turkish Football Federation’s Amateur Football Disciplinary Board (AFDK) for discrimination and ideological propaganda on the grounds of a Kurdish song played before the Regional Amateur League match between Manisa 1965 Nurlupınar Gençlergücü Spor and Manisa Spor on February 15, 2026. It is learned that Manisa 1965 Nurlupınar Gençlergücü Spor, which was referred to Turkish Football Federation’s Amateur Football Disciplinary Board (AFDK) for discrimination and ideological propaganda in accordance with Article 42 of Football Disciplinary Instructions, was declared forfeited in the match it won 1-0, 3 points of the club were deleted, the team was sentenced to play 5 matches without spectators and 6 managers were sentenced to a fine of 15.000 TL each and 90 days of ineligibility. It was reported that Manisa 1965 Nurlupınar Gençlergücü Spor dropped from first to fifth place after the decision.

It is learned from the news coverage of March 27, 2026 that, X social media account of Jinnews news website is banned to access on the grounds of protection of national security and public order, through Article 8/A of Law No 5651.

It is learned from the news coverage of March 27, 2026 that, X social media account of Kurdish news portal Ajansa Welat was banned to access on the grounds of protection of national security and public order, within the scope of Article 8/A of Law No 5651.

It is learned from the news coverage of March 28, 2026 that, Instagram social media account of Mezopotamya Agency, which broadcasts in Kurdish, is banned to access on the grounds of protection of national security and public order, within the scope of Article 8/A of Law No 5651.
