(02/038) Police Intervention Against Labor Protest in Istanbul…

The police intervened the protest of Migros warehouse workers in front of the company owner’s villa in Beykoz district of Istanbul on February 4, 2026 and detained 46 people, including Neslihan Acar, chairperson of Warehouse, Port, Shipyard and Marine Workers Union (DGD-Sen), using physical violence and handcuffing them behind their backs. 46 people were released on the same day after statement procedures at the police.

(02/039) Police Intervention to a Protest in Istanbul…

On February 4, 2026, the police intervened the protest of polce intrvention to Migros warehouse workers in front of the company owner’s villa in Beykoz district of Istanbul about their demands and detained 14 people by using physical violence.

Detained people were released on the same day.

On February 5, 2026, 25 people are detained through an investigation against Buca Municipality in Izmir, on the allegations of bribery.

(02/041) Journalist on Trial in Istanbul…

The trial of the case against journalist Sedef Kabaş, on the grounds of insulting the President in her social media posts, continued on February 5, 2026 at Istanbul Anadolu Penal Court of First Instance No 2. The court adjourned the trial to May 5, 2026.

(02/042) Party Executive on Trial in Istanbul…

The final trial of the case against EMEP Istanbul Provincial Chair Sema Barbaros through Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK) investigation is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 22 on February 4, 2026. The court acquitted Sema Barbaros on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’.

Sema Barbaros was arrested on February 18, 2025 and was released at the first hearing of the case on May 28, 2025.

The final trial of the case against Ayşe Bengi Çelik through HDK investigation is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 22 on February 4, 2026. The court acquitted Ayşe Bengi Çelik on the charge of ‘being an illegal organization member’.

Ayşe Bengi Çelik was arrested on February 18, 2025 and was released at the first hearing of the case on May 28, 2025.

It is learned that journalists who were following the protest of Migros warehouse workers in front of the company owner’s villa in Beykoz district of Istanbul on February 4, 2026, were taken away from the protest area by the police.

It is learned that 2 news reports about Balıkesir University on https://www.sozcu.com.tr/, https://www.ozgurkocaeli.com.tr/ websites were banned to access by Çanakkale 1st Civil Court of First Instance on February 4, 206.
