(10/213) Prisoners whose Release was Adjourned by the Prison Administration and Observation Board…
It is learned from the news coverage of October 30, 2025 that the release of 2 prisoners in Bolu F Type Prison, Aydın Adıyaman and Ali Murat Çelik, who completed the execution of their life sentences, was adjourned by Prison Administration and Observation Board (CİGK) for 5 months and 3 months respectively. It is also stated in the news reports that Aydın Adıyaman’s release was adjourned for the 5th time and Ali Murat Çelik’s release was adjourned for the 6th time.

On October 31, 2025, the police intervened the people protesting Minister of Justice who attended the opening ceremony of academic year at Izmir Ege University and detained 5 people.

The final hearing of the lawsuit filed against Zafer Party Chairman and former MP Ümit Özdağ, due to his statements on former President of Religious Affairs, was held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 14 on October 30, 2025. The court acquitted Ümit Özdağ on the charge of ‘insulting a public officer for his duty’.

On October 31, 2025 it is learned from the news coverage of October 31, 2025 that, an investigation is initiated against Siyasi Haber editor Murat Yıldırım for an article he wrote, on the grounds of insulting the President.
(09/218) People on Trial in Istanbul
The final trial of the case against 110 people for participating in the protests against the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor is held at Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No 61 on October 31, 2025. The court acquitted 109 people on the charge of ‘opposing to Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No 2911’ and separated the cases of 1 person.

The indictment prepared by Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against 4 people who were detained during the police intervention against the march organized in Çankaya district of Ankara on November 20, 2025 as part of the ‘Day of Remembrance of Transgender Victims of Hate Crime’ was accepted by Ankara Criminal Court of First Instance No 50 on October 30, 2025. The indictment demands sentence for 4 people on the charge of ‘opposing the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No 2911’. The first hearing of the case will be held on February 17, 2026. It is learned that the case of 1 lawyer who was detained in the same intervention is separated.
(10/220) Lawyer on Trial for ‘Insulting the President’ in Istanbul…
The final hearing of the retrial of the case against lawyer Özgür Urfa, which was held on October 31, 2025, following the reversal of the 10-month prison sentence given by Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 4 due to ‘insulting the President’ through his statements in a petition submitted to the court in 2014, was overturned by the Court of Cassation. The court acquitted the lawyer.

On October 30, 2025 it is learned from the news coverage of October 30, 2025 that Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office decided not to prosecute the criminal complaint against 7 people who were detained for participating in the protests in Ankara against the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, and were subjected to strip search at Ankara Security Directorate.

On October 30, 2025, it is learned that the building of S.M. Artists Association in Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır is attacked by anonymous person or persons. It is reported that the attack caused material damage to the building.
