It is learned from the news coverage of September 9, 2025 that 6 people lost their lives and 1 person got wounded when a Coast Guard vessel hit another vessel carrying refugees/migrants off Ayvalık district of Balıkesir on September 7, 2025.

According to the statement made by Worker Health and Worker Safety Council (ISIG), at least 192 workers including 19 women, 13 children and 6 migrants/refugees lost their lives while working in August 2025.

It is learned on September 9, 2025 from news coverage of September 9, 2025 that in Kırşehir High Security Prison, wards are being counted once an hour. It is also stated in the news reports that prisoners were forced to stand during roll-calls, were subjected to verbal and physical violence of wardens, and personal belongings of prisoners were distributed.

3 of 9 people, including writer Nur Betül Aras and academician Abdullah Esin, who were detained in Istanbul due to ‘insulting the President’, ‘inciting people to hatred and hostility’ and ‘inciting people to commit crime’ in their social media posts, were arrested by the criminal court of peace on September 9, 2025. 6 people were released on judicial control conditions.

The retrial of the case against Narin Gezgör, founding member of Rosa Women’s Association, continued on September 9, 2025 before the Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No.9. The indictment demands sentence for Narin Gezgör on the charge of ‘being an illegal organization member’. The court adjourned the trial to February 26, 2026.

The trial of the case against Galatasaray University student Arda Karademir for his social media posts started on September 9, 2025 at Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance No 23. The court sentenced Arda Karademir to 11 months and 20 days for ‘insulting the President’ and deferred the announcement of the verdict. The court also ruled to lift the house confinement measure against Arda Kandemir.

It is learned from the news coverage of September 9, 2025 that, 6 members of Manifest music band who gave official statements through the investigation initiated by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on the charges of ‘indecent act’ and ‘indecent exposure’, about the concert held in Küçükçiftlik Park in Istanbul on September 6, 2025, where the age limit was 18, are released by the criminal court of peace with a ban on leaving the country and judicial control condition of signature.

It is learned from the news coverage of September 10, 2025 that at least 3 social media posts about the concert given by Manifest music band in Istanbul Küçükçiftik Park on September 6, 2025, are banned to access on the grounds of national security and protection of public safety, by Ankara Penal Court of Peace No 6 on September 7, 2025 upon the application of Ministry of Family and Social Services.
