According to news reports on August 29, 2025, 24 Kurdish workers laboring in a field in the Bor district of Niğde were attacked by the field owner and his relatives. One person, Orhan İdilkurt, was wounded by a bullet that struck his body during the attack. The report alleges that the gendarmerie and ambulance called by the workers arrived late at the scene.

According to news reports on August 29, 2025, it was learned that three prisoners in Erzurum Dumlu High Security Prison No. 1 were subjected to torture and other ill-treatment by prison guards.

According to news reports on August 28, 2025, it was learned that the release of Halil Ay, an inmate held at Tekirdağ No. 1 F-Type Prison who had completed his prison sentence on August 19, 2025, was adjourned for three months by the Prison Administration and Observation Board (CİGK) on the grounds that he was “not well-behaved.”

On August 28, 2025, during a march organized by women and LGBT+ individuals in İzmir in relation to September 1 World Peace Day, it was learned that the police intervened and prevented the carrying of banners bearing the words LGBT+ and rainbow colors, and that the banners were turned upside down.

On August 28, 2025, police intervened in a vigil held in front of the Ministry of Justice in Ankara regarding Serkan Onur Yılmaz, who was on hunger strike in prison, and physically detained those participating in the protest. It was not possible to determine how many people were detained in total during the police intervention.

It was learned that conscientious objector Şendoğan Yazıcı was detained on August 28, 2025, in Artvin during a roadside check on the grounds that he was a “deserter” and was released the same day after the proceedings.

According to news reports on August 29, 2025, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared an indictment against 10 people, including Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney, Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat, and CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, regarding allegations of “voting fraud” at the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Istanbul provincial congress.

According to news reports on August 28, 2025, an investigation was launched by the Aydın Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against Ufuk Gündoğdu, Chairman of the CHP Aydın Provincial Youth Branch, citing a banner hung at the party’s Efeler district office regarding the Aydın Metropolitan Mayor, who resigned from the CHP and joined the AKP. It was learned that Gündoğdu went to the Provincial Security Directorate to give a statement as part of the investigation.

According to news reports on August 29, 2025, three news articles on the websites https://www.gazetepencere.com/, https://www.12punto.com.tr/, https://www.cumhuriyet.com.tr/, were blocked by the Istanbul Anatolia 1st Criminal Court of Peace on August 28, 2025, citing national security and public order as the reasons.
