According to news reports published on August 16, 2025, it was learned that some political prisoners in Samsun Kavak S Type Prison were threatened by prison guards with the words, “Wait until the process is over, then you’ll see.”

According to press reports dated August 16, 2025, the release of Abdullah İnan, who was held in İzmir No. 3 T Type Prison and had completed his prison sentence on August 8, 2025, was adjourned by the Prison Administration and Observation Board (CİGK) on the grounds that he was not in good behavior.
According to press reports on August 16, 2025, the release of Nujen Raperin Amaç, who was held in İzmir Kırıklar No. 1 F Type Prison and had completed his prison sentence, was postponed until January 13, 2026, by a decision of the CİGK on the grounds that he was not in good conduct.

Eight of the 17 people, including municipal employees, who were detained on August 12, 2025, as part of an investigation into the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, were arrested on August 15, 2025, by the magistrate’s court to which they were referred. Nine people, including five under judicial control, were released.

The indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against Onur Yılmaz, a member of the Polen Ecology Collective, was accepted by the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 22 on August 15, 2025. The indictment seeks the punishment of Onur Yılmaz for the crime of “being a member of an organization.” The first hearing of the case will take place on September 11, 2025. Onur Yılmaz was arrested on June 25, 2025.

The indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against Ali Haydar Saygılı, who was detained and arrested in Istanbul before May 1, was accepted by the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 24 on August 15, 2025. The first hearing of the case will be held on October 21, 2025.

According to news reports on August 17, 2025, it was learned that the treatment of a transgender man named Kerem, who had been undergoing hormone therapy as part of his gender transition process since 2020 at Samsun 19 May University Hospital, was arbitrarily suspended by the hospital.

According to news reports on August 16, 2025, access to the social media accounts of Yeni Yaşam Gazetesi, Ajansa Welat, and Xwebûn has been blocked.
