It is learned that 4 HPG militants died in the clashes between security forces and HPG militants in the rural areas of the Pervari district of Siirt on July 27, 2024.
It is learned from the news coverage of July 29, 2024, that 2 militants died in a clash between Turkish Armed Forces units and HPG militants in the Qandil area of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on April 30, 2024.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 27, 2024, that M. E., a Syrian trans woman refugee/asylum seeker who was targeted on social media by sharing her HIV+ diagnosis without her consent, died after being deported from Hatay Cilvegözü Border Gate.
(07/209) Former Mayor Lost His Life in an Armed Attack…
On July 27, 2024, Ahmet Soğuk, former mayor of Ferizli Municipality from AKP, who was attacked by unidentified people while he was driving his personal car in Sakarya, is reported to have lost his life. It is reported that 4 people are detained in relation to the incident.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 26, 2024, that at least 70 people including correction officers and prisoners in Bolu F Type Prison were referred to the hospital with complaints of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. It is also reported in the news that prison officials stated that there are no seriously ill prisoners among those referred to the hospital.
It is learned from the news coverage of July 27, 2024, that prisoners in Çorum L Type Prison are allowed to ventilate only 1 hour a day, cannot benefit from sports and other social and cultural activities, 2 prisoners named Sami Geylan and Süleyman Yıldırım have been kept in solitary rooms for 2 years, prisoners are allowed only 45 minutes for open visits, and many TV channels including Meclis TV are banned by the prison administration.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 27, 2024, that Daveti Tan, an ill prisoner in Van F Type Prison was referred to the hospital by the physician in charge of the prison infirmary with complaints of memory and extreme weight loss, but was not referred to hospital.
(07/212) Racist Attack on Kurdish Traffic Warning Signs in Diyarbakır…
It is learned from the news coverage of July 29, 2024, that the warning signs in Kurdish, “Hedî” (Slowly) and “Peşî Peya” (Pedestrian First), which were placed at pedestrian crossings by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, were covered by anonymous people. It is also claimed in the news reports that the change in question was made by the Governorate on the grounds of ‘not conforming to the standards’.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 29, 2024, that 1 child (16, m) stated the following to the press about the warning sign in Kurdish “Pêşî Peya” (Pedestrian first) placed by Van Metropolitan Municipality at a pedestrian crossing, which was covered with spray paint and written “Turkey is Turkish, Turkey will remain Turkish”: “They told me that the police would not cause any trouble and that they did it for show. They even said they would help me with a click. Some of those police officers were already acquaintances… ‘There is nothing to be afraid of. I understand your nationalist feelings, you did well. Your blood is flowing fast, but these things cannot be done in the East. We will help you as much as we can’.”
(07/214) Gendarmerie Intervention Against a Protest in Mardin…
On July 26, 2024, gendarmerie intervened with tear gas against people protesting the dismantling of transformers by Dicle Elektrik Dağıtım A. Ş. (DEDAŞ) in Kutluca rural neighborhood of the Derik district of Mardin, and detained 4 people by using physical violence. It is learned that a person with 90% disability was also subjected to physical violence by the gendarmerie during the intervention. The names of the detainees could not be learned.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 26, 2024, that İlknur Birol, Party Assembly (PM) member of Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), was arrested in Istanbul and sent to prison after the finalization of 1 year and 6 months’ imprisonment sentence given by Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 25 for ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ on the grounds of her social media posts.

Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Adıyaman Central District Co-Chair Yusuf Özperçin, who was detained on July 20, 2024, on the grounds of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ in his statements, was released on July 26, 2024, upon his lawyer’s appeal.
(07/216) People Detained in Ağrı, Siirt, Hakkari and Istanbul…
It is learned from the news coverage of July 27, 2024, that 5 people including a child were detained in house raids through an investigation on the Kurdish music at a wedding in the Kurtalan district of Siirt. 4 detainees were arrested on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’. 1 person is released on house confinement as a judicial control measure. Names of arrested people are as follows A. T. (17, b), Edanur Taşkesen, Filiz Taşkesen, Tülin Taşkesen. Person released under house confinement: Filiz Taşkesen.
It is learned from the news coverage of July 27, 2024, that 7 people including 1 musician were detained in house raids through the investigation initiated in connection with a wedding in the Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı. 4 people were released after statement procedures at the police. 1 of them (musician Gökhan Rızaoğlu) was arrested due to ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ while 2 people were released on judicial control conditions.
According to the news coverage of July 27, 2024, 18 people were detained in house raids conducted through the investigation of Kurdish music at weddings in Istanbul on different dates. 11 of 18 people who were referred to the Criminal Peace Judgeship on July 28, 2024, were arrested on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’. 7 people were released on judicial control conditions.
It is learned from the news coverage of July 29, 2024, that 3 separate weddings in Hakkari were raided by the police and some musicians, production company employees and wedding owners were detained on the grounds of Kurdish music being played at the weddings. The total number of detainees and names of detainees could not be learned.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 27, 2024, that 11 people including IZSU General Director and Gdz Electricity Distribution General Director, who were detained in relation to the death of 2 people, İnanç Öktemay (44) and Özge Ceren Deniz (23), who were caught in an electric current after stepping into a puddle in the Konak district of Izmir on July 12, 2024, were released by the criminal peace judgeship on judicial control conditions.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 29, 2024, that Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation against Tuğba Ekinci for ‘provoking hatred and hostility among the public’ on the grounds of her words “How is this bowing down to prostration, how is this saying ‘amen’, how is this Allah, how is this prophet” when she reacted to criticism of the clothes she wore at an award ceremony.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 29, 2024, that Public Prosecutor’s Office issued a decision of non-prosecution on the grounds of ‘insufficient evidence’ for the criminal complaint filed by the lawyer of Kerem Arvas, who was detained in house raids in Söğütlü (Peyindas) village of Tatvan district of Bitlis, within the scope of an operation launched by security forces in rural areas of the village, and was subjected to torture and ill-treatment by the gendarmerie and was wounded in various parts of his body.

The Constitutional Court (AYM) evaluated the individual application made by Emine Şenyaşar’s lawyers regarding the judicial fine and the decision to defer the announcement of the verdict given for ‘insult’ in the case filed at the Ankara Penal Court of First Instance and ruled that Emine Şenyaşar’s right to a fair trial was violated.
Emine Şenyaşar’s husband Hacı Esvet Yaşar and her sons Adil and Celal Şenyaşar were killed on June 14, 2018, in the Suruç district of Urfa after a quarrel between Justice and Development Party (AKP) parliamentary candidate İbrahim Halil Yıldız and his bodyguards and shopkeepers.

The Governorate of Şırnak announced on July 26, 2024, that all kinds of open-door meetings and demonstration marches, collective welcoming and farewell ceremonies, press statements, sit-ins, rallies, meetings, tents, petition campaigns, opening stands, mass funeral ceremonies and cemetery visits, commemoration ceremonies, festivals, concerts, entertainment, play representations, demonstrations, etc. to be held throughout the province, all kinds of audio and visual activities that can be carried out with sound broadcasting devices, all kinds of aerial activities such as wishing lanterns, balloon kites, drone-paramotor etc. are banned for 5 days between July 27, 2024 and July 31, 2024.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 27, 2024 that, 1 news article on https://www.diken.com.tr, about a column on the rector of Konya Selçuk University, was ruled to be deleted by Konya Criminal Peace Judgeship No 5 on July 18, 2024, on the grounds of violation of personal rights.
It is learned from the news coverage of July 27, 2024, that, 3 news reports about the inheritance case of the Tatlıcı family on https://12punto.com.tr, https://www.ahaber.com.tr, and https://www.ntv.com.tr were banned to access by Adana Criminal Peace Judgeship No 6 on July 19, 2024, on the grounds of violation of personal rights.
