The final hearing of the case against 24 members and executives of Migration Monitoring Association (GÖÇİZDER), including Bilal Yıldız, a social worker at HRFT Istanbul Office, was held on 9 February 2024 in the courtroom of Marmara (Silivri) Prison Campus at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 26. The court acquitted 23 people on the charge of ‘being a member of an illegal organization’ and sentenced Berkant Yılmaz to 1 year 6 months and 22 days on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ and deferred the announcement of the verdict.

It is learned from the news coverage of February 9, 2024, that the individual appeal to the Constitutional Court about the seizure of 2 books and 21 photographs of Mehmet Sıddık Ayaz during a ward search in Elazığ High-Security Prison No 2 in January 2019, on the grounds of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’, and the disciplinary proceedings that resulted in 11 days of solitary confinement for Mehmet Sıddık was concluded and the Constitutional Court ruled that Mehmet Sıddık Ayaz’s freedom of expression was violated.

The Governorate of Batman announced on February 8, 2024, that all kinds of open-door meetings and demonstration marches, collective welcoming and farewell ceremonies, press statements, sit-ins, rallies, rallies, tents, petition campaigns, opening stands, mass funeral ceremonies and cemetery visits, commemoration ceremonies, festivals, concerts, entertainment, plays, representations, etc. to be held throughout the province, all kinds of audio and visual activities that can be done with sound broadcasting devices, all kinds of aerial activities such as wishing lanterns, balloon kites, drone-paramotor etc., and all kinds of actions and activities such as distributing flyers, stickers, brochures, hanging banners and posters, etc. are subject to permission for 8 days between February 9, 2024, and February 16, 2024.
