It is learned from the news coverage of September 8, 2020 that 27 people who were detained through an Uşak based investigation on August 31, 2020; were subjected to strip search and psychological pressure through interrogations called “private interview”. 22 of detained people were released with a ban on leaving the country while 5 of them were arrested on September 4, 2020.

On September 8, 2020, 16 people including Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK) co-spokesperson Sedat Şenoğlu are detained in house raids in 5 cities through an investigation against Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP). The final trial of the case against a person named A. S. is held at Adana Heavy Penal Court No 2 on September 9, 2020. The court sentenced the defendant to 8 years and 9 months on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’.

Ministry of Health declared that 52 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 1,761 new Covid-19 cases were diagnosed on September 8, 2020.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 6,782 and total number of confirmed cases is 283,270 as of September 8, 2020.
It is learned from data shared by Ankara Chamber of Medicine on September 8, 2020 that 799 health workers including 131 doctors, 71 intern doctors, 5 dentists, 2 workplace doctors, 118 nurses and delivery nurses, 30 primary care doctors, 6 administrative personnel, 47 medical secretaries and social workers, 7 pharmacists, 9 radiology technicians, 39 emergency medical technicians, 10 laboratory experts, 3 physiotherapists and dietitians, 3 anaesthesia technicians, 1 finance officer, 99 cleaning workers, 7 kitchen workers, 10 security staff in Ankara tested positive for Covid-19.
