It is aimed to make visible how often the reverse clamp application, which is not included in the law and tried to be legitimized by the circular of the General Directorate of Security, is applied and the medical damages it causes. 1830 applicants who applied to the HRFT for being tortured in Turkey and whose detention dates were 01.01.2018 and above are included. It is understood that a total of 749 (40.9%) applications, of which 444 (24.3%) applications were reversed and 305 (16.7%) were reverse-tight, were subjected to reverse clamping. When evaluated together with the findings in the applications, it was evaluated that the reverse handcuffs practices are a torture method that causes physical and mental disorders, and that it is applied illegally, including even children.
