(11/088) Operations and Attacks…

It is learned from the news coverage of November 7, 2021 that, 2 militants died in a clash between Turkish Armed Forces units and HPG militants in rural areas of Ömerli district of Mardin on October 22, 2021.

(11/089) Attack on HDP Office…

It is learned that anonymous person or persons organized an attack with a gasoline bomb on district office of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır on November 8, 2021. It is learned that nobody was harmed in the attack.

(11/090) Prevention of Right to Health in Prison…

It is learned from the news coverage of November 8, 2021 that, prisoners who reject in-mouth search during transfers and to be examined in handcuffs in Adana Kürkçüler F Type Prison, were not taken to hospitals.

(11/091) Police Intervention to a Protest in Ankara…

The police intervened the press declaration of students protesting The Council of Higher Education, in front of Ankara University Cebeci Campus on November 8, 2021 and detained 11 people by using physical violence. It is learned that the police prevented the journalists from recording the intervention. 3 of the detainees are released on the same day.

(11/092) Detained Party and Union Executives and Other People in Diyarbakır…

On November 18, 2021, 18 people including political party, union and association executives and Peace Mothers are detained in operations covering 4 cities through a Diyarbakır based investigation.

It is learned that detainees are subject to prevention from seeing their lawyers for 24 hours.

Detained people are: HDP Diyarbakır provincial executives Mehmet Asana, Şeyhmus Yavuz, HDP Bağlar district co-chair Nasır Yelter and district executive Hüseyin Baran, HDP Bismil district co-chair Şakir Demir, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Diyarbakır provincial executives Yasemin Akengin, Mehmet Ali Alkan, Mehmet Süslü and Abdullah Dengiz, Socialist Party of Kurdistan (PSK) deputy chair Bayram Bozyel, Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) Diyarbakır provincial co-chair Erkan Keskin, Health and Social Services Employees’ Union (SES) branch executive Gülhan Tekin, Education and Science Employees’ Union branch co-chair Arzu Koç, Chamber of Mechanical Engineers branch executive board member Arin Zümrüt, Union of All Municipality Civil Servants Diyarbakır branch co-chair Baki Öndeş, Peace Mothers Assembly member Vesiye Yiğit, Solidarity Association of Prisoners’ Families (TUAYDER) executive Şehrat Uyanık and Nazife Yiğit.

(11/093) Investigation Against Writer…

A criminal complaint was filed against writer Orhan Pamuk, on the grounds of ‘insulting Atatürk and the flag of Turkey’ in his book “Nights of Plague” and the file was closed as Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office has concluded on non-prosecution. It is learned from the news coverage of November 8, 2021 that the Criminal Court of Peace on duty has accepted the appeal against the decision of non-prosecution and launched an investigation against Orhan Pamuk once again.

(11/094) Trials in Alleged Link to Coup Attempt…

The final trial of the case against 2 arrestees (Enver Altaylı and Mehmet Barıner) and Büşra Chanatzoglou, is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 16 on November 8, 2021. The court sentenced Enver Altaylı to 13 years and 4 months on the charge of ‘political and military espionage’ and to 10 years on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’; Mehmet Barıner to 12 years and 6 months on the charge of ‘political and military espionage’ and to 8 years and 9 months on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’. The court acquitted Büşra Chanatzoglou.

(11/095) Covid-19 Pandemic…

The Ministry of Health declared that 187 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 27,824 as of November 8, 2021.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 72,516 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 8,191,230 as of November 8, 2021.

It is learned that Ümmet Turhan, a health worker in Aydın lost his life due to Covid-19 on November 5, 2021.
