On August 8, 2023, Metin Cansız, brother of Sakine Cansız who died in an armed attack in Paris on January 9, 2013, was detained on the grounds of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’ at Elazığ Airport where he came from Germany. Metin Cansız was released on judicial control conditions by the court on the same day.

It is learned that the local authority Edip Aslan and local council member Halil İş of Ortaca neighbourhood of Midyat district of Mardin were suspended by Midyat District Governorate’s Office on August 8, 2023 on the grounds of an investigation against them.

It is learned that the concert organized by Dersim Hay Platform to be held at Seyid Rıza Square on August 12, 2023, was banned by Tunceli Governorate’s Office responding as “Considering the application, it was not deemed appropriate in terms of form and content” on August 8, 2023.
