The first trial of the case against 19 people who were detained during the police intervention to the “standing man” protest in Taksim Square in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul on May 28, 2025, on the 12th anniversary of Gezi Park protests, started to be held at Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No 5 on October 8, 2025. The indictment demands sentence for 19 people on the charge of ‘violating Law No 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations’. The court lifted judicial control measures against 19 people and adjourned the trial to March 4, 2026.

The final trial of the case against 10 people who were detained in police intervention against the march organized in Istanbul 1 Mayıs neighbourhood for September 2 Festival in 2022, is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 25 on October 7, 2025. The court acquitted 10 people on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ and sentenced them to 5 months for ‘violating Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No 2911’. The court sentenced 3 people to 10 months for ‘damaging public property’ and 1 person to 5 months for ‘preventing people from performing their duties’.
