Mardin Governorate’s Office declared that 1 soldier (Cihan Çiftçibaşı) died in an attack to a military vehicle in rural areas of Kızıltepe district of Mardin on July 7, 2021.
(07/076) Child Got Wounded by Security Fire in Ağrı…
It is learned that a 15-year-old child (15) who was shepherding around, got wounded at the leg by the fire opened by security forces during a military operation in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı on July 7, 2021.
(07/077) Torture and Ill-Treatment in Prison…
It is learned from the news coverage of July 7, 2021 that, 3 prisoners (Latif Mollaahmetoğlu, İlhan Kaya, Deniz Şah) in Izmir Kırıklar F Type Prison No 1 were subjected to disciplinary proceedings on the grounds of chanting slogans, and were imposed a penalty of ‘prevention of visitors’ for 3 months as a result.

It is learned that the appeal made on July 7, 2021 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers in order to visit their client was not responded.

On July 7, 2021, 4 people (Yaşar Tozluk, Halil Sanan, Mehmet Kaya and Yaşar İmdat) are detained in house raids in Iğdır. The reason of detention is unknown.
(07/081) HDP Co-Chair on Trial…
The trial of the case against the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Pervin Buldan, for her speeches at several events, is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 18 on July 7, 2021.
The court rejected to end proceedings despite of parliamentary immunity and adjourned the trial to November 3, 2021.
(07/082) Diyarbakır JITEM / Musa Anter Case…
The consolidated case on Musa Anter’s killing in Diyarbakır in 1992 and activities of JITEM (Gendarmerie Intelligence and Anti-Terror Unit) in Diyarbakır is held on July 7, 2021 at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 6. The case known as “JITEM Main Case” on Diyarbakır Penal Court No 1 and the case of Musa Anter’s killing has been consolidated by the Supreme Court’s decision on January 29, 2016.
The court adjourned the trial to November 24, 2021.

It is learned that news reports on https://www.cumhuriyet.com.tr, https://www.sozcu.com.tr, https://halktv.com.tr websites and several social media posts about the cousin of the Interior Minister are banned to access on the grounds of violation of personal rights by Ankara Batı Penal Court of Peace No 2 on July 7, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 7, 2021 that the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK) issued Halk TV channel with a broadcast ban for 3 times and administrative fine, for a song called “Cemo” featured on the channel.
It is learned from the news coverage of July 7, 2021 that RTUK issued FOX TV, KRT TV, TV100 and Tele 1 television channels with administrative fines.
(07/085) Ban of Events in Aydın…
Aydın Governorate’s Office made a declaration on July 7, 2021 and announced that demonstrations and meetings, press declarations, sit-in protests, distributing leaflets, photograph exhibitions, opening ceremonies, public talks, picnics, panel discussions, concerts, collecting petitions, hanging banners and posters, protests, festivals and so on are banned in the city for 6 days as of July 7, 2021. It is learned that the ban was announced right after the application for the Pride March to be held on July 11, 2021.

On July 7, 2021, 6 people are detained in operations covering 2 cities through an Adana based investigation.
(07/087) Covid-19 Pandemic…
The Ministry of Health declared that 52 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 5,160 as of July 7, 2021.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 50,048 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 5,459,923 as of July 7, 2021.
