(08/031) Extra-judicial Execution in Şırnak…
On 7 August 2015 in Silopi district of Şırnak, the police conducted operations against the groups who dug ditches on the roads to protest in the recent detention operations. When people objected and protested the operation, the police opened fire with real bullets. Snipers also involved the operations. Kamuran Bilin (27) was shot at her/his chest an died during the police attacks.
The number of the persons died during the operations reached 3 in Silopi. The family of Kamuran Bilin made a public statement and announced that Kamuran Bilin was shot by a sniper.
(08/032) Operations and Attacks in the Southeast…
On 7 August 2015, PKK militants closed the road nearby Çetenli village of Doğubayazıt district in Ağrı and stopped a bus. Military troops conducted an operation against the militants and an armed clash broke out. One non-commissioned officer and the driver of the bus died during the clash. The bus was coming from Iran and 3 Iranian passengers were also wounded.
2 police officers were wounded when a bomb exploded during the passage of an armoured vehicle on 6 August 2015 in Cizre district of Şırnak.
An armoured police vehicle was attacked with a rocket-launcher on 7 August 2015 in Cizre district of Şırnak. One police officer died and 4 police officers were wounded during the attack.
Governorate of Kilis announced on 7 August 2015 that the implementation of security military zone in rural areas on Syrian border was prolonged for 10 days until 17 August 2015. Entrance of civilians to the military security zones was also banned.
Governorate of Gaziantep announced that the implementation of 2 security military zones in in Karkamış district was prolonged until 22 August 2015.
Police officer Muhammed Onur Demir who was wounded during an armed clash in Silopi district of Şırnak died on 8 August 2015 in the hospital.
A police vehicle was attacked on 8 August 2015 in Midyat district of Mardin. One police officer died and one police officer was wounded during the attack. An armed clash broke out after the attack and one wounded militant was captured.
On 10 August 2015, Akdizgin Military Station in Güçlükonak district of Şırnak was attacked and one soldier died during the attack.
According to the official announcement, 2 militants died and 2 militants were wounded during an armed clash on 10 August 2015 nearby Elmalı village in Bingöl.
2 militants reportedly died during an armed clash that broke out on 10 August 2015 in Varto district of Muş.
A military helicopter was opened fire on 10 August 2015 in Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak and one soldier died.
4 police officers died when a bomb exploded during the passage of an armoured police vehicle on 10 August 2015 in Silopi district of Şırnak.
2 persons were wounded when a bomb exploded on railroad track during the passage of a train on 9 August 2015 in Erzincan.
The government house in Nusaybin district of Mardin was attacked on 11 August 2015. with bombs and long barreled weapons. 3 police officers were wounded during the attack.
12 militants allegedly died during the operations conducted in the region nearby Tendürek and Ağrı mountains in Iğdır, Ağrı and Van provinces.
(08/033) Armed Attack in Ankara…
On 7 August 2015, the vehicle of Alevi Bektaşi Federasyonu (Alewite-Bektashi Federation) Chairperson Baki Düzgün and Alevi Kültür Dernekleri (Alewite Culture Associations) Chairperson Doğan Demir was organised an armed attack on their way from İstanbul to Ankara. They were going for a conference and the attack was organised some 70 km from Ankara form a vehicle without a registration plate.

Bayrampaşa (İstanbul) Security Directorate was thrown blast bombs twice on 8 August. One child was reportedly wounded during the attack.

Mehmet Bulu was wounded when police officer opened random fire from a police vehicle on 8 August 2015 in Silopi district of Şırnak.
(08/036) Police Station Attacked and Armed Clash in İstanbul…
Fatih Police Station in Sultanbeyli district of İstanbul was attacked on 10 August 2015 with a bomb-laden vehicle. The driver of the vehicle died and 10 persons including 3 police officers were wounded during the attack. The crime scene investigation team was also opened fire in the morning.
During the attack and the armed clash that broke out after the attack, one police officer and 2 attackers died. First People’s Defence Unit (Halk Savunma Birliği) claimed the responsibility for the bomb attack, and then PKK claimed the attack. According to the announcement, the attack was organised by Erdal Yıldız, Burak Boğakan and Deniz Uçkun, militants of Şehit Zîlan Ölümsüzler Taburu (Martyr Zîlan Battalion of the Immortals).

An armed attack was organised on 10 August 2015 against the US Consulate in İstinye quarter of Sarıyer district in İstanbul. An armed clash broke out after the attack and Hatice Aşık (51) who was allegedly one of 2 attackers captured wounded. Hatice Aşık was reportedly remanded in a case launched in connection with a “DHKP-C (Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party – Front) Investigation” and she was released recently to be tried without remand.

On 10 August 2015 in Van, Ö.I. (15) and M.I. (13) were heavily wounded when a material they found in the garbage exploded in Hacıbekir quarter.
(08/039) Torture and Ill-treatment in Custody in Şırnak…
9 persons who were detained during the demonstration staged on 7 August 2015 to protest in the killings of 3 persons during the operations conducted in Silopi district of Şırnak were allegedly subjected to torture and ill-treatment in custody.
They were detained in the hospital where they went for being wounded during the police intervention. Lawyers from Mezopotamya Hukukçular Derneği (Mesopotamia Jurists Association) made a public statement and announced that they were not allowed to Security Directorate. The lawyers also stressed that one of the detainees who was hospitalised for fainting due to heavy torture was raped and hit at head with the butt of a gun.
(08/040) Torture and Ill-treatment in Custody in Hakkari…
The footages of the operation conducted by Special Forces against a construction site in Yüksekova district of Hakkari was revealed. 52 persons were detained during the operation and 26 detainees were subjected to torture and ill-treatment in the construction area. İlyas Yorgun, Metin Gezen, Kemal Yeklitaş and Burhan Gülcan were arrested on 9 August 2015 on the allegations of “reasonable suspicion”.
According to the footages released by Dicle News Agency, the workers were handcuffed from behind and forced to welter. The chief police officer was yelling to and threatening the detainees by saying “What the fuck did this government to you? I know all of you. Whoever betrays will see the power of Turk. ”.

According to the news appeared in the press on 9 August 2015, the 4th web site domain of the Dicle News Agency “dihanews.net” launched after the bans on previous domains was also banned.
After the operations against PKK started on 24 July 2015, access to domains “diclehaber.com”, “diclehaber.com.tr” and “dihanews.com” were banned.
According to the news appeared in the press on 11 August 2015, access to web site of media company Dağ Medya “dagmedya.net” was also banned.

The police intervened and dispersed by using tear gas the members of Libertarian Jurists Association who wanted to make a public announcement on 7 August 2015 in front of Çağlayan (İstanbul) Court House to protest in the detention of lawyer Deniz Sürgüt while conducting a field study in İdil district of Şırnak for a report on human rights violations.

On 7 August 2015 in Ankara, the police intervened the action of 97 workers who were recently fired from Çankaya Municipality relying on the technological developments. 2 workers were wounded during the intervention.

The police intervened a group of persons who staged a sit-in action in front of a hospital where Hatice Aşık was taken after being captured wounded following the attack against USA Consulate on 10 August 2015 in İstanbul. 8 persons were detained during the intervention.

On 10 August 2015, Governorate of Siirt banned the “Çirav Kültür Sanat ve Doğa Festivali (Çirav Culture, Art and Nature Festival)” planned to be organised on 14-15 August 2015 by Eruh Municipality on the grounds that “the festival may disturb the public peace” and “public security cannot be provided”.

9 persons in İslahiye district of Gaziantep and 13 persons in Tekman district of Erzurum were detained during the operations conducted in connection with “PKK Investigation”. 4 detainees in İslahiye and 3 detainees in Tekman were arrested on 7 August 2015 on the allegations of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”.
İbrahim Doğruyol who was detained during a house raid conducted in Iğdır was arrested on 7 August 2015 on the allegations of “aiding and abetting an illegal organisation”.
Fuat Sevinç, Berivan Aşkan, Sedat Arslan, Cihan Alpcan and Selma Tuza who were among 14 persons including Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) executives detained in several districts of İstanbul were arrested on 8 August 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
9 persons including Metin Keleş who survived the suicidal bomb attack in Suruç were detained during house raids conducted in Adana. The detainees were arrested on 9 August 2015.

During the operations conducted on 9-10-11 August 2015, 3 persons in Midyat district of Mardin, 11 persons in Tekman district of Erzurum, 16 persons in İzmir, 7 persons in Adana were detained.
