(02/047) Women Deaths…
Bianet announced on 6 February 2016 that at least 261 women were killed on the basis of social gender and that in addition to this there were 66 cases in which offenders are not clarified, which are suspicious deaths, suicides and suicide attempts.
(02/048) Torture and Other Ill Treatment in Prison…
According to the news appeared on 6 February 2017, in Elazig T Type Prison cameras are located in cells which can see toilets and bathrooms. And to protest this, the woman prisoners do not do their prison visits.
According to the news appeared on 6 February 2017, 5 women prisoners are transferred to different prisons against their will. HDP Co-chair to Kars Seyda Subasi, DBP Co-chair to Kars Yeliz Subasi, HDP Co-chair to Igdir Oya Malgaz, DBP Co-Chair to Kagizman Bahar Alkan and DBP Member Party Assembly Sengül Mehmetoglu were transferred to Elazig T Type Prison. Memeber of Kagizman District Municipality Assembly Cigdem Ozlu was transferred to Urfa T Type Prison.

The Co-Mayor of Findikli, a sub-district of Sirnak’s Guclukonak district, Ahmet Ece was arrested on 7 February 2017 for ‘being a member of an illegal organisation.’ Ece had been detained on 6 February 2017.

3 persons, who were detained on 6 February 2017 on the basis of their social media shares, were arrested on 6 February 2017 for ‘insulting the Head of State’, ‘violating the Anti-Terror Law’ and ‘inciting people to hatred and enmity’

Members of Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) and Assembly of Socialist Women (SKM) Gamze Das, Elif Celik and Ozgur Kiraz, who were detained on 1 February 2017, were arrested on 6 February 2017 for ‘making propaganda of an illegal organisation.’
15 persons, mostly children, were detained on 6 February 2017 while sending off their friends to military service with singing Kurdish songs.
(02/52) Case of Hayatin Sesi TV…
According to the news appeared on 6 February 2017, there is law case against Hayatin Sesi Tv, which was closed by a decree with the force of law, for ‘making propaganda of an illegal organisation.’ The case is based on several news which had appeared on the TV. The court which is in charge of the case is Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 13. The hearings will start on 30 May 2017.
(02/53) The Case of HDP Diyarbakır MP Imam Tascıer…
Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 8 started on 6 February 2017 the case against HDP Diyarbakir MP Imam Tascıer. Tascıer participated the hearing. The indictment wants the defendant to be sentenced for ‘making propaganda of an illegal organisation’, ‘participating illegal meetings and marches unarmedly.’ After the defense, court adjourned the hearing to 16 May 2017.

On 6 February 2017, Ministry of Interior appointed Ceyhun Dilşad, the deputy governor of Siirt, as a trustee to Gökcebag Distirct in Siirt province. The total number of trustees appointed to municipalities which are governed by mayors from Democratic Regions Party (DBP) reached the number of 69.

On 6 February 2017, Ministry of Interior expelled Deputy Mayor of Agri and 5 members of municipality assembly. Names of those who are expelled are as follows: Ömer Polat (Deputy Mayor of Agri), üyeleri Fehim Çetinkaya, Kutbettin Torun, Gülsüm Demir, Burhan Taşdemir and Murat Aydemir.

On 6 February 2017 the Governorate of Mardin declared curfew in Caliköy and Kuyular villages in Nusaybin.
(02/57) Operations and Attacks in the Southeast…
YPS General Coordination announced that 3 of their members had been killed in clashes that had taken place on 21 January 2017 in Kiziltepe and 12 January 2017 in Van. The names are as follows: Mehmet Ozgur Taş (21 January 2017 / Kızıltepe), Zozan Turgut (12 January 2017 / Van) ve Sevgi Catak (12 January 2017 / Van).
