It is learned that a 9-year-old child (Y. Y.) in Ceylanpınar district of Urfa, got wounded in the head by the fire opened from Serêkaniyê area of Syria on May 7, 2022. It is reported that the child is under treatment in hospital and in critical condition.

It is learned from the news coverage of May 9, 2022 that, a person (Emrah C.) jumped off the second floor of Adıyaman Courthouse where he was taken after being detained. It is claimed that he committed suicide.

It is learned that 1 soldier (Muharrem Efendi Dündar) who was injured in an accident of a military vehicle which killed 2 soldiers in Kozan district of Adana on April 9, 2022, died in the hospital on May 7, 2022.

Oğuzhan Ercan, Adana provincial chair of the Innovation Party, was attacked by an unknown person or persons while he was hanging up a poster on May 7, 2022. It is learned that Oğuzhan Ercan was injured in the leg as a result of the attack.

It is learned that a person named M. S. attacked the commemoration held in front of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Konya office on May 6, 2022 by the provincial Youth Branch to commemorate Deniz Gezmiş, Hüseyin İnan and Yusuf Aslan. It is reported that M. S. was detained by the police regarding the attack, in which no one was killed or injured.

It is learned from the news coverage of May 7, 2022 that, Emir Karakum, a prisoner in Samsun Bafra T Type Prison was subjected to physical violence of the correction officers. It is also stated in the news reports that Emir Karakum, who was injured in several parts of his body was not treated in hospital.
It is learned from the news coverage of May 7, 2022 that, Abdullah Öcalan in Bursa İmralı F Type Prison is given the penalty of prevention from meeting his lawyers for 6 months.
It is learned from the news coverage of May 8, 2022 that, Deniz Ataş, a prisoner who was transferred to Izmir Kırıklar F Type Prison was said ‘your lawyer is here’ and taken to a room where he was forced by police officers to be an informant.

It is learned that the appeal made on May 6, 2022 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by families and tutelary of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, and Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in Imralı Prison, in order to visit them was not responded.

The police intervened the press declaration of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Muş on May 7, 2022, to protest police threat to HDP Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran. It is learned that 3 executives of HDP were detained by using physical violence. Detained people are released on the same day.

The police intervened the press declaration which were made within the scope of “I Want My Job Back Protest” in front of Human Rights Monument in Yüksel Street on May 6, 2022 and forced people away from the monument by using physical violence.

The police prevented the march of a group of members of the Victory Party, including the party chair Ümit Özdağ, from the Grand National Assembly to the Ministry of Interior building on May 6, 2022. Ümit Özdağ made a press statement at the entrance of the Grand National Assembly.
It is stated in the news reports that journalists were subjected to physical violence of the police.
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said in a television program on May 5, 2022 the following for Ümit Özdağ: “I would not treat him as a man, he is a dishonourable man. This man is less than an animal. He is a child of Soros and a child of operation. It is obvious that he is an intelligence officer”.

On May 7, 2022, 10 children are detained in house raids in Cizre district of Şırnak, on the grounds of ‘throwing rocks at the police’.

Mahsun Birlik, a distributor of Yeni Yaşam newspaper is detained in Cizre district of Şırnak on May 8, 2022. The reason of detention is unknown.

Alparslan Kuytul, chair of the Furkan Foundation, is detained by the police in a house raid in Adana on May 9, 2022, to take his statement as part of an investigation. Alparslan Kuytul was arrested on the same day by the court, on the charges of ‘deprivation of liberty’, ‘extortion’, ‘instigating injury’.

3 people, including the Victory Party Arnavutköy district chair Adem Şeker, who were detained in Istanbul on May 8, 2022, on the grounds of ‘inciting the people to hatred and hostility’ because of the poster ‘Victory party will come, refugees will leave’ they carry, are released after statement procedures on the same day.

It is learned from the news coverage of May 7, 2022 that a Moroccan tourist was detained by the police in Kuşadası district of Aydın on the charge of ‘insulting the President’.
(05/044) People on Trial for Participating in a Protest in Izmir…
The first trial of the case against 33 people who have been detained by the police intervening the protest of students demanding their housing rights in Buca district of Izmir on September 27, 2021, is held at Izmir Penal Court of First Instance No 52 on April 29, 2022. 33 people are charged with ‘violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations’ and 7 of them are also charged with ‘damage to public property’. The court decided to stop the proceedings against 33 people, since an indictment was prepared by the public prosecutor on January 12, 2022, although the same prosecutor has given the decision of non-prosecution on January 10, 2022. The court decided to separate the case against 7 people on the charge of ‘damage to public property’, and to report 5 people on the same charge for further investigation.

It is learned from the news coverage of May 9, 2022, that the bank accounts of the Nesin Foundation were blocked by Istanbul Governorate’s Office on the grounds of conducting a donation campaign without permission.

The Ministry of Health declared that 7 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 1,743 as of May 6, 2022.
The Ministry of Health declared that 11 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 1,661 as of May 7, 2022.
The Ministry of Health declared that 9 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 1,480 as of May 8, 2022.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 98,846 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 15,043,329 as of May 8, 2022.
