It is learned from the news coverage of November 7, 2021 that, 1 asylum seeker died in the boat sinking in the offshore of Bodrum district of Muğla. It is learned that 2 asylum seekers are lost in the sea.
(11/074) Torture and Ill-Treatment in Adana…
It is learned from the news coverage of November 6, 2021 that, Hüseyin Selçuk Yaycıoğlu and his 2 friends were subjected to physical violence of the police from whom they asked for help over a stolen mobile phone at a concert in Adana on October 3, 2021; and that Hüseyin Selçuk Yaycıoğlu’s leg got broken due to violence.
Hüseyin Selçuk Yaycıoğlu stated the following to the press: “The police officers lunged to attack my friends, they took off their clubs. And I was in between them. A police officer grabbed my collar, another one twisted my arm. I thought they would handcuff me so I gave my other arm. They did not handcuff me, they forced me lie down and beat me. They were 10 to 15 officers attacking me. One was holding my head while another one was holding my mouth. 4 or 5 people pressed on my leg, they beat me and broke my leg, and then ran away. I went to the hospital by the help of citizens.”

It is learned from the news coverage of November 7, 2021 that, Abdurrahman Dinler (73) was subjected to torture and ill-treatment of soldiers during a house raid in Yardere rural neighbourhood of Ömerli district of Mardin.

It is learned from the news coverage of November 6, 2021 that, during a house raid in Lice district of Diyarbakır, 1 person (Behçet Bayhan) was forced to wait on his knees and handcuffed behind his back and was threatened to death and other people in the house were subjected to verbal violence of the police.

It is learned from the news coverage of November 7, 2021 that, 2 members of Free Students Initiative were detained during a criminal record check in Ankara on November 6, 2021; and 1 of them was subjected to torture and ill-treatment and was forced to be a police informant at Çankaya District Security Directorate.

On November 6, 2021, the police intervened five press declarations of students protesting The Council of Higher Education, in front of Marmara University Campus in Kadıköy district, in front of Çağlayan Courthouse in Şişli district, outside of the Student Selection and Placement Center in Üsküdar district, in front of General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories Agency in Fatih district and in front of Kadıköy Tax Office. The police detained 18 members of Youth Committees and they are released after statement procedures on the same day.

Hifzullah Kurum, a research assistant at Public Finance Department of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Fırat University in Elazığ, is detained on November 5, 2021, for a social media post reading “Şoreşa Îlonê hemû Kurdan pîroz be, Bijî Kurdistan” (Happy September Revolution to all Kurds. Long Live Kurdistan”. Hifzullah Kurum is arrested by the court on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’ on November 6, 2021. It is also stated in the news reports that Hifzullah Kurum was discharged from his post.

On November 7, 2021, 1 person (Mehmet Filizcan) who was detained at a control point in Lice district of Diyarbakır on the grounds of ‘financing an illegal organisation’, is released by the court on the same day.

2 people (Zeki İdin and Musa İdin) who were detained in Şırnak on November 2, 2021, are arrested by the court on the charge of ‘aiding an illegal organisation’ on November 5, 2021.

1 person (Emine Çelik) who was detained in Suruç district of Urfa on November 4, 2021 is arrested by the court on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ on November 6, 2021.
(11/084) Person on Trial in Bursa for ‘Insulting the President’ on Social Media…
The final trial of the case against Yüksel Üstün, for a social media post reading “Tayyip is a Jew who fakes as a Muslim”, is held at Bursa Penal Court of First Instance No 23 on November 5, 2021. The court sentenced Yüksel Üstün to a penalty fine of 7,000 Turkish Liras on the charge of ‘insulting the President’.
(11/085) People on Trial in Izmir…
The final trial of the case against 25 people, including Deniz Poyraz who was killed in the attack on HDP’s Izmir office, is held at Izmir Heavy Penal Court No 2 on November 5, 2021. 24 people are charged for participating in the funeral of Dilan Kortak, who was killed in a police raid to a house in Sancaktepe district of Istanbul on December 3, 2015.
The indictment demands sentence for 25 people on the charges of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ and ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’.
After defence hearings the court dropped the case against Deniz Poyraz and acquitted 24 people.

The Ministry of Health declared that 198 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 28,193 as of November 5, 2021.
The Ministry of Health declared that 203 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 27,474 as of November 6, 2021.
The Ministry of Health declared that 200 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 25,304 as of November 7, 2021.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 72,329 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 8,163,406 as of November 7, 2021.
It is learned that nurse Sevi Çakıcı in Bursa lost her life due to Covid-19 on November 5, 2021.
