It is learned from the news coverage of November 4, 2021 that, Ömer Siper and other prisoners in his ward in Konya Ereğli Prison were said “your lawyer is here” and taken out of their ward where they were interrogated and threatened by the police.

It is learned that the appeal made on November 4, 2021 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers in order to visit him was not responded.
(11/059) Police Intervention to Protests of HDP in Ağrı, Van, Tunceli, Ankara, Adana and Izmir…
On November 4, 2016, several parliamentary members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) were arrested following lift of legislative impunity. The police intervened the press declaration for the fifth year of arrests, held in Ağrı on November 4, 2021. The police detained 9 people including HDP provincial co-chairs Semra Özden and Erol Berke by using physical violence. Detained people are released after statement procedures on the same day.
The police intervened the press declaration in Van, on the grounds of ban of events by the governorate’s office. The police detained the Prisoners’ Families Solidarity Association (TUHAYDER) executive Edibe Babur and HDP Party Assembly member Musa İtah, by using physical violence. It is learned that the press declaration was held in front of Ipekyolu district office of HDP. Detained people are released after statement procedures on the same day.

The police intervened the justice watch of Emine Şenyaşar in front of Urfa Courthouse on November 4, 2021 and it is learned that Emine Şenyaşar was on a drip because of health problems. It is reported that the police chief told the officers “Take her to a hospital by using force. This is courthouse not a hospital”. It is learned that Emine Şenyaşar rejected to be taken to a hospital. On June 14, 2018, Justice and Development Party Urfa MP candidate İbrahim Halil Yıldız and his personal guards had a quarrel with shopkeepers in Suruç district of Urfa which resulted in death of Emine Şenyaşar’s husband Hacı Esved Şenyaşar and her sons Adil and Celal Şenyaşar.

On November 4, 2021, 2 people (Emine Özçelik and Ömer Örçin) are detained in house raids in Suruç district of Urfa. The reason of detention is unknown.

The trial of the case against Nilüfer Elik Yılmaz, HDP co-mayor of Kızıltepe district; and Gülistan Öncü, HDP co-mayor of Savur district, is held at Mardin Heavy Penal Court No 2 on November 4, 2021.
The court rejected to hear lay witnesses and anonymous witnesses at the trial and adjourned the trial to February 1, 2022.
The Ministry of Interior appointed sub-governors as trustees to Kızıltepe (on November 4, 2019) and to Savur (November 16, 2019). Gülistan Öncü was detained on November 15, 2019 and was arrested on November 26, 2019. Nilüfer Elik Yılmaz was detained on December 12, 2019 and was arrested by the court on December 16, 2019. They were released by the court on April 1, 2021.

The trial of the case against 205 people including members and executives of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 3 on November 4, 2021. The court adjourned the trial to February 17, 2022.

The final trial of the case against apprentice lawyer Sinan Bin is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 28 on November 4, 2021. The court sentenced Sinan Bin to 6 years and 3 months on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’.

The final trial of the case against former executive of Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Association (PSAKD) and writer Erdal Yıldırım, for his social media posts, is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 14 on November 4, 2021.
The court sentenced Erdal Yıldırım to 1 year 6 months and 22 days on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’.

The trial of the case against Rosa Women’s Association executive member lawyer Elif Tirenç İpek Ulaş, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 8 on November 4, 2021. Alter defence hearings the court adjourned the trial to February 15, 2022.

The trial of the case against ill prisoner Devrim Ayık is held at Izmir Heavy Penal Court No 2 on November 4, 2021.
Devrim Ayık joined the trial from prison via sound and vision system. It is learned that the witnesses heard at the trial did not mention Devrim Ayık in their statements. The court decided to continue detention of Devrim Ayık and adjourned the trial to January 25, 2022.
(11/068) Vartinis Massacre Case…
The retrial of the case against former gendarmerie lieutenant Bülent Karaoğlu, for death of 9 members of Öğüt family including 7 children, in their house that was burned down by soldiers on May 17, 1993 in Altınova (Vartinis) town of Korkut district in Muş; is held at Kırıkkale Heavy Penal Court No 1 on November 4, 2021. Bülent Karaoğlu did not join the trial. The court adjourned the trial to December 9, 2021.
The final trial of the case was held on March 1, 2016; and the local court has acquitted all 4 defendants (Hasköy Gendarmerie Commander lieutenant Bülent Karaoğlu, Hasköy District Company Commander Lieutenant Hanifi Akyıldız, Gökyazı Gendarmerie Commander master sergeant Turhan Nurdoğan and Muş Security Directorate Special Task Department chief police Şerafettin Us). On January 26, 2021, the Penal Department No 1 of the Court of Cassation has approved the acquittal for 3 defendants but reversed the local court’s verdict regarding Bülent Karaoğlu, who was the commander of Hasköy Gendarmerie Station back then. The case will drop due to term of limitation if it will not be finalised until October 3, 2023.

The final trial of the case against 8 people is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 16 on November 4, 2021. The court sentenced 4 people to jail sentences starting from 1 year 10 months and 15 days to 3 years 6 months and 15 days according to effective remorse law. The court rejected the case against 1 defendant, separated the case against 1 defendant and acquitted 2 defendants.

The Ministry of Health declared that 228 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 29,482 as of November 4, 2021.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 71,528 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 8,082,435 as of November 4, 2021.
It is learned that doctor Muhammed Fatih Taşlıçay in Ankara lost his life due to Covid-19 on November 4, 2021.
