On August 4, 2021, 1 person (Mehmet Altun) is detained in Bozkır district, in relation to the racist attack that killed 7 members of Dedeoğulları family in Hasanköy neighbourhood of Meram district of Konya on July 30, 2021. The number of detainees through this investigation is 15 while 10 of them were arrested.

Mardin Governorate made a declaration on August 4, 2021 and banned all demonstrations and opendoor meetings for 15 days as of August 15, 2021. It is also announced that all events such as press declarations, distribution of leaflets, hanging banners and posters, marching with torches, hunger strikes, sit-in protests, collecting petitions, opening tents and protests are subjected to permission of the local authority.
