According to “Male Violence Monitoring Report” of Bianet published on November 3, 2021, at least 22 women and 2 children got killed by men in October 2021. It is also reported that 9 women were raped, at least 79 women were forced to sex work, 53 women were subjected to violence, 49 children were abused by men in October 2021.

The trial of the case against HDP co-chair Pervin Buldan, for her speeches at several events, is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 18 on November 3, 2021.
The court rejected to end proceedings due to parliamentary impunity once again and adjourned the trial to February 16, 2022.

The trial of the case against 14 journalists of Özgürlükçü Demokrasi newspaper which was closed down by a state of emergency decree, is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 23 on November 3, 2021.
The court rejected to lift the ban on leaving the country for journalists and adjourned the trial to February 17, 2022.

The trial of the case against co-executive editors Eren Keskin and Hüseyin Aykol, and managing editor Reyhan Çapan and journalist Hasan Başak, from Özgür Gündem newspaper which was closed down by a state of emergency decree, is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 13 on November 3, 2021. The court adjourned the trial to February 23, 2022.

The final trial of the case against 15 people including Asiye Kolçak, former Bursa MP of HDP, is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 35 on November 3, 2021.
The court decided to acquit 14 people and sentenced Memduhe Biçerman to 1 year and 8 months on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’.

The trial of the case against Fatma Gültekin, a member of Rosa Women’s Association, on the grounds of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 10 on November 3, 2021.
The court decided to send the case file to the prosecutor’s office for legal opinion and adjourned the trial to February 20, 2022.

The final trial of the case against Professor Ali Nesin, on the grounds of ‘insulting the President’ is held at Izmir Selçuk Penal Court of First Instance on November 3, 2021. The court acquitted Ali Nesin.

The final trial of the case against writer Yılmaz Odabaşı, on the grounds of ‘insulting the President’ is held at Yalova Penal Court of First Instance No 2 on November 3, 2021. The court sentenced Yılmaz Odabaşı to 11 months and 20 days and did not postpone the sentence.

The first trial of the case against Mukaddes Kabak, a prisoner in Ankara Sincan Women’s Prison, on the grounds of participating in the hunger strike to demand an end to isolation of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 25 on November 3, 2021.
Mukaddes Kabak attended the trial and gave her personal identity information in Kurdish. It is learned that her statements were recorded as “The defendant answered the questions regarding her identity in ‘a different language’” in the court minutes. The court ruled a ban on leaving the country for Mukaddes Kabak who is in prison due to another case, and adjourned the trial to January 19, 2022.

It is learned from the news coverage of November 3, 2021 that, the Security Directorate General launched an investigation against 30 people, on the grounds for social media posts related to health condition of the President. It is also reported that President Erdoğan made criminal complaints for these social media posts.

It is learned from the news coverage of November 3, 2021 that, the investigation of Van Public Prosecutor’s Office on the charge of ‘insult’, against journalist Oktay Candemir, ended on non-prosecution decision.

On November 3, 2021, 16 people are detained in operations covering 6 cities through a Bursa based investigation; 13 people are detained in operations covering 4 cities through an Ankara based investigation and 9 people are detained in Ankara.

The Ministry of Health declared that 246 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 29,764 as of November 3, 2021.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 71,500 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 8,052,953 as of November 3, 2021.
