It is learned from the news coverage of June 29, 2022 that, in Mersin Tarsus T Type Prison the food given to prisoners was not adequate and hygienic.
It is learned from the news coverage of June 30, 2022 that, Salman Akpınar, a prisoner in Edirne F Type Prison was transferred to a prison in Izmir under coercion.

It is learned that the appeal made on June 30, 2022 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by the lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, in order to visit him was not responded.
(06/354) Police Intervention to Protests in Istanbul and Van…
The police intervened the justice watch about ill prisoners, in front of Çağlayan Courthouse in Istanbul in Istanbul on June 30, 2022 and detained the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Bahçelievler district co-chair by using physical violence.
The justice watch to be held in front of the Courthouse in Van for the same cause, was prevented by the police on June 30, 2022.

The police intervened the press declaration which were made within the scope of “I Want My Job Back Protest” in front of Human Rights Monument in Yüksel Street on June 29, 2022 and forced people away from the monument by using physical violence.

20 people including HDP’s former district co-chair were detained in Tarsus district of Mersin on June 22, 2022. 1 of them (Ahmet Amutgan) is arrested by the court on the grounds of “being an illegal organisation member” on June 30, 2022. 19 people are released on judicial control conditions.

HDP Istanbul MP Hüda Kaya’s son, Muhammed Cihad Cemre, who was detained by the police raiding his house in Bayramiç of Çanakkale on June 25, 2022, and was released by the court on judicial control conditions on June 27, 2022; is detained once again upon the prosecutor’s office and is arrested by the court on June 29, 2022.

The final trial of the case against journalist Abdurrahman Gök who has captured the moment Kemal Kurkut was killed by police officers at the Newroz celebration in Diyarbakır in 2017, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 5 on June 30, 2022. The court acquitted Abdurrahman Gök on the charge of “being an illegal organisation member” but sentenced him to 1 year on the charge of “being an illegal organisation member” and then increased the sentence to 1 year 6 months and 22 days and did not postpone the verdict.

The trial of the case against journalist Hayri Demir on the charges of “being an illegal organisation member” and “making propaganda for an illegal organisation” is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No. 15 on June 29, 2022. The court adjourned the trial to September 28, 2022.

The trial of the case against Mikail Tunçdemir and Ferhat Duman, who have been detained in Van while distributing Özgürlükçü Demokrasi and Azadiya Welat newspapers in 2018, is held at Van Heavy Penal Court No. 5 on June 29, 2022. The indictment demands sentence for 2 people ın the charge of “aiding an illegal organisation” and “making propaganda for an illegal organisation”. The court adjourned the trial to September 27, 2022.

The trial of the case against 9 people, 1 of whom was detained, regarding the death of Hakim Dal on as a result of a racist attack in Meram district of Konya on June 21, 2021, is held at Konya Heavy Penal Court No. 7 on June 29, 2022. After defence hearings, the court adjourned the trial to September 29, 2022.

It is learned from the news coverage of June 29, 2022 that the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK) issued Halk TV channel, KRT TV channel, TELE 1 TV channel and Radio Sputnik channel with administrative fines for the programmes “The Frame”, “The Issue”, “Ordinary Business”, “18 Minutes” and TGRT TV channel with administrative fine for not complying the broadcast ban.

It is learned that the news reports about the former lawyer of the President, published on https://abcgazetesi.com, https://www.birgun.net, https://halktv.com.tr websites are banned to access on the grounds of “violation of personal rights” by Istanbul Anadolu Penal Court of Peace No 6 on June 29, 2022.
(06/364) Covid-19 Pandemic…
The Ministry of Health declared on June 29, 2022 that 17 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the number of Covid-19 cases is 11,256 between June 20 and 26, 2022.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 99,032 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 15,123,331 as of June 26, 2022.
