According to news reports on July 29, 2025, two Syrian citizens were subjected to physical violence by soldiers at a border post in the Ceylanpınar district of Urfa. It was reported that footage of the two individuals being subjected to physical violence was shared by a soldier on his social media account.

According to news reports on July 30, 2025, the release of two prisoners, Türkan Karadaşlı and Mekiye Sönük, who were being held in Istanbul Bakırköy Women’s Prison and had completed their prison sentences, was postponed by a decision of the Prison Administration and Observation Board (CİGK).
(07/195) Miraç Miroğlu Case…
A police officer has been charged with “negligence resulting in death” in connection with the death of a 7-year-old child named Miraç Miroğlu, who was killed on September 3, 2021, in the district of İdil, Şırnak, after being hit by a police armored vehicle. The acquittal decision issued in the case filed at the İdil Criminal Court of First Instance on the charge of “causing death by negligence” was overturned by the Diyarbakır Regional Court of Appeal on the grounds that permission was not obtained from the relevant local administrative authority. According to news reports published on July 30, 2025, it was learned that the İdil District Governor’s Office had decided to reject the request regarding the defendant police officer in the case, following the decision to approve the request for trial permission.
