(07/221) Asylum Seekers Died in Van…
It is learned from the news coverage that, 3 asylum seekers died, 6 people including 4 asylum seekers and 2 soldiers got wounded in the crash of a military vehicle carrying detained asylum seekers at the Iranian border in Çaldıran district of Van on July 29, 2021.
(07/222) Hunger Strike in Prison…
It is learned from the news coverage of July 29, 2021 that, Fatih Baran, a prisoner who was transferred from Mersin Tarsus T Type Prison No 3 to Konya Ereğli T Type Prison under coercion on June 25, 2021; is on hunger strike to demand an end to right violations, since July 17, 2021. It is also stated that Fatih Baran is being kept in a solitary cell.
(07/223) Detained DBP Executive and Other Person in Adıyaman…
2 people (Yusuf Bağırcı, former provincial executive of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and former teacher Erdal Çıtrık who has been dismissed from his job by a state of emergency decree) who have been detained in house raids in Adıyaman on July 27, 2021, are arrested by the court on the charge of ‘aiding an illegal organisation’.
(07/224) Covid-19 Pandemic…
The Ministry of Health declared that 60 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 22,161 as of July 29, 2021.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 51,184 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 5,682,630 as of July 29, 2021.
