It is learned from the news coverage of January 29, 2024, that Uğur Çiçek, a prisoner in Ödemiş T Type Prison was transferred to Bodrum S Type Prison against his will and that Uğur Çiçek’s family was informed about the transfer 2 days later.
It is learned from the news coverage of January 30, 2024, that a photograph sent to Murat Aslan, a prisoner in Izmir Kırıklar F Type Prison No 1, from outside the prison was seized by the prison administration on December 21, 2023, on the grounds that it was not possible to determine whether the people in the photograph were family members or not; and that Murat Aslan’s appeal to Izmir Execution Judgeship on January 4, 2024, and the appeal of Murat Aslan’s lawyer Sidal Bayrak to Izmir Heavy Penal Court No 1 was rejected.
It is learned from the news coverage of January 30, 2024, that Doğukan Akbaba, Barış Atmaca, Ramazan Taş, Sami Öztürk, Erol Şen, Turgut Koyuncu, Cevher Ay and Recep Sürme, prisoners in Izmir Kırıklar F Type Prison No 1 were not given yellow, red and green coloured beads they asked for in the course they attended to make bracelets.

It is learned that the appeal made on January 30, 2024, to the chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by the lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, and Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in Imralı Prison, to visit them was not responded to.

On January 30, 2024, Social Freedom Party (TÖP) Party Assembly Member Didar Gül, Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) Izmir Provincial Chair Kerim Altınmakas, Gülseren Olgun, Vezan Özoğlu and Yaşar Aslan were detained in house raids in Izmir on the allegations of ‘financing an illegal organization’.

The trial of the case against Mehmet Ferhat Çelik, Editor-in-Chief and Osman Akın, Managing Editor of Yeni Yaşam newspaper, for a news article published in the newspaper about Serhat Albayrak, continued on January 30, 2024, at Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No 2. The court adjourned the hearing to May 14, 2024.
