(09/014) Male Violence Monitoring Report…

According to Bianet’s “Male Violence Register,” at least 23 women and 7children were killed by men across Turkey in July 2025. The statement also stated that men inflicted violence on at least 76 women, harassed 27 women, abused 13 children and forced 33 women to sex work.

(09/015) Torture and Ill-Treatment in Prison…

It is learned from news coverage of September 3, 2025 that, Mehmet Emin Vural, an ill prisoner who was transferred to Istanbul Metris R Type Prison for treatment, was subjected to torture and ill-treatment of the wardens and was threatened with the following words: “It is very easy for us to kill a Kurd here.  We will kill you and make it look like an accident. We have done this here before, no investigation was initiated against us”

(09/016) Police Intervention to a March in Istanbul…

The police intervened the march organized by Boğaziçi University students on September 2, 2025 to protest the death of Hilal Özdemir (15) due to an armed attack of a man while she was working at a wedding on Boğaziçi University campus. The police intervened the march and detained at least 17 people by using physical violence and handcuffing them behind their backs. Detainees were released the same day after statement procedures at the police.

(09/017) Police Intervention to a March in Mersin…

On September 2, 2025, the police intervened the march in Akbelen neighbourhood of Toroslar district of Mersin to protest the killing of Hiranur Nilgün Aygar (16) who was found shot in a car in Akbelen neighbourhood of Toroslar district of Mersin on August 31, 2025. It is reported that no one was detained during the intervention.

(09/018) Detained Municipality Executives and Other People in Istanbul…

On September 3, 2025, 7 people including Hüseyin İnan, Culture and Art Chief of Avcılar Municipality and Murat İpşir, Transportation Services Manager are detained through an investigation against Beşiktaş and Avcılar Municipalities.

(09/019) Social Media Channel Manager Detain in Istanbul…

It is learned that Çorlu Public Prosecutor’s Office issued a new detention warrant for the founder and interviewer of YouTube channel Sarı Mikrofon, who was detained from his house in Istanbul on August 29, 2025 on the grounds of including footage of a person shooting in the air with a rifle and another person threatening “I will take everyone’s life” in a street interview in Çorlu district of Tekirdağ  and released by Çorlu Penal Court of Peace No 1 on judicial control conditions, and that Özkan Bozkurt is detained on September 3, 2025. Özkan Bozkurt was arrested by the criminal court of peace.

(09/020) Detain Person in Şırnak…

Sait Güler, who was detained by gendarmerie on September 2, 2025 in Kumçatı district of Şırnak for wearing a jersey with “Kurdistan” written on it, is released after statement procedures at the gendarmerie on the same day.

(09/021) Mayors and Party Executives on Trial in Istanbul

The indictment of Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against 10 people including Beyoğlu mayor İnan Güney, Beşiktaş mayor Rıza Akpolat and CHP Istanbul provincial chair Özgür Çelik, on the allegations of “vote rigging” in Istanbul provincial congress of Republican People’s Party (CHP) is accepted by Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No 72 on September 2, 2025.

(09/022) Mayor on Trial in Afyon…

The final hearing of the lawsuit filed against Burcu Köksal, Mayor of Afyon Municipality, on the grounds of her statement on the existence of eavesdropping and surveillance devices in the municipality building, was held at Afyon Penal Court of First Instance No 1 on September 2, 2025. The indictment demands Burcu Köksal to be sentenced for ‘slander’ and ‘fabricating a crime’. The court acquitted Burcu Köksal.

(09/023) The Case Against CHP Istanbul Congress…

On September 2, 2025, the trial of the lawsuit filed at Istanbul Civil Court of First Instance No 45 regarding the annulment of the CHP Istanbul provincial congress held on October 8, 2023 continued. The court ruled to cancel the provincial congress; to suspend CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, original and substitute members of the provincial board of directors, original and substitute members of the provincial disciplinary board, upper congress delegates and to appoint an interim board consisting of Gürsel Tekin, Zeki Şen, Hasan Babacan, Müjdat Gürbüz and Erkan Narsap to exercise the powers of provincial chairman, provincial board of directors and provincial disciplinary board and to stop the ongoing congress activities.
