It is learned from the news coverage of 2 January 2025 that the books sent to journalist Serpil Ünal who is kept at İstanbul Bakırköy Woman Prison were not given to her and sent back on the ground that “cargoes sent from İstanbul are not allowed.”
It is learned from the news coverage of 2 January 2025 that at Ankara Sincan Woman Prison the social and cultural rights of prisoners are cancelled on the grounds of austerity measures.

It is learned from the news coverage of 2 January 2025 that Baki Can Işık, a prisoner who is kept in Ankara Sincan High Security Prison No 2, is on hunger strike since 19 January 2025 demanding transferring to another prison and closing down Y and S type prisons.

It is learnt that İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation against the Chair of Independent Turkey Party, Hüseyin Baş, on the grounds of insulting the President in a speech he delivered at an event of his party. Hüseyin Baş, after giving his testimony, was released by criminal peace judgeship with a travel band and judicial control condition on 2 January 2025.

A child named T. S. Ü. (17, m) is detained at Antalya on 3 January 2025 on the grounds of a picture he shared on social media for ‘insulting religious values.” T. S. Ü. is arrested on the sameday by criminal peace judgeship .
