It is learned from the news coverage of October 31, 2022 that, 2 militants died in a clash between security forces and HPG militants in the rural areas of Osmaniye on May 24, 2022.

It is learned that Ehettin Kaynar, a 73-year-old ill patient with cancer who was released from Karabük T Type Prison on September 2, 2022 with a stay of execution for 6 months, died in Iğdır State Hospital on October 31, 2022.

It is learned from the news coverage of October 28, 2022 that, in Trabzon Beşikdüzü T Type Prison one ward for 3 people was charged with an electricity bill of 834 Turkish Liras.
It is learned from the news coverage of October 30, 2022 that, 4 journalists (Deniz Nazlım, Emrullah Acar, Selman Güzelyüz and Hakan Yalçın) who were arrested through the Ankara based investigation against Mezopotamya News Agency and Jinnews reporters on October 29, 2022, were put in solitary cells in Ankara Sincan F Type Prison No. 1.
It is learned from the news coverage of October 31, 2022 that, prisoners in Bolu F Type Prison were prevented from their cultural, social and sports rights; and they were threatened by the correction officers saying “You have not seen anything yet” during ward searches; that the prices at prison commissary were high and some of the goods bought from the commissary were seized during ward searches, and the number of books per prisoner was restricted. It is also stated in the news reports that 136 prisoners were subjected to disciplinary proceedings for protesting right violations.

It is learned that the appeal made on October 28, 2022 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by families and tutelary of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, and Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in Imralı Prison, in order to visit them was not responded.

It is learned from the news coverage of October 28, 2022 that a street seller in Seyhan district of Adana was subjected to physical violence by a municipality police officer with whom he was arguing. The Republican People’s Party (CHP) Seyhan district Mayor Akif Kemal Akay announced that the municipality officer involved in the incident was dismissed and legal action was initiated against him.

9 of 11 journalists who were detained through an Ankara based investigation against Mezopotamya News Agency and Jinnews Agency on October 25, 2022, are arrested by the court on October 29, 2022. 1 journalist (Mehmet Günhan) is released on judicial control conditions on October 29, 2022. 1 journalist (Zemo Ağgöz) was released by the court on house confinement on October 26, 2022.
Arrested journalists are: Mezopotamya News Agency executive editor Diren Yurtsever, Mezopotamya News Agency reporters Berivan Altan, Deniz Nazlım, Selman Güzelyüz, Hakan Yalçın, Emrullah Acar and Ceylan Şahinli, Jinnews reporters Habibe Eren and Öznur Değer.

Journalist Ümit Zileli is detained in Izmir on October 29, 2022 through an investigation against him on the grounds of ‘insulting the President’. Ümit Zileli is released on the same day upon the prosecutor’s order.

It is learned that 9 people are detained in house raids in Mersin on October 28, 2022, on the grounds of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’. The names of detained people learned so far are: Firaz Aka, Şiyar Oğuz.

It is learned that 9 people are detained in house raids in Cizre district of Şırnak on October 29, 2022. Detained people are: Hozan Gökalp, Tatar Gökalp, Rıdvan Türel, Nurullah Kurami, Recep Turan, Goğan Geçgel, Burhan Macak, Ahmet Türüg and Ceger Cagini.

Hakkari Governorate made a declaration on October 31, 2022 and announced that all meetings, open-door assemblies, demonstrations, marches, sit-in protests, human chains, op-ed stands, public sessions, any kind of audio-visual activities with mobile audio-visual vehicles, hunger strikes, opening stands, collecting petitions, flying sky lanterns or balloons, commemorations, concerts, festivals, theatre plays, screening shows, firing torches, distributing leaflets, hanging banners and so on are banned for 15 days as of October 31, 2022. All events are banned in Hakkari for 315 days since January 4, 2022.
