It is learned from the news coverage of September 27, 2022 that, 5 militants died in a clash between the Turkish Armed Forces units and HPG militants in Zap area of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government in June, 2022.

The Ministry of National Defence announced that 1 soldier (Enes Bıyık) died and 1 soldier was injured in the accident at Kocaeli Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command on September 27, 2022.

It is learned that two people named E. K. and M. G. were attacked in the Yakutiye district of Erzurum on the grounds that they were wearing earrings, on September 25, 2022. It is learned that 2 children named E. C. (17, m) and C. B. (17, m) were detained regarding the attack.
(09/279) Person Attacked in Antalya…
Avrasya Research Company chair Kemal Özkiraz was attacked by an unknown person in a park in Konyaaltı district of Antalya on September 27, 2022. Kemal Özkiraz made the following statement: “While I was feeding my child in the playground of our neighbourhood in Konyaaltı at 20.05, I was attacked by a person wearing a hat and mask, who approached the bank I was sitting on from behind. After walking around the park behind me, he punched me in the ear, shouted ‘Who the hell are you’, and ran away quickly.”

It is learned that a racist group attacked by saying “You will speak Turkish” the group protesting the death of a woman named Mahsa Amini in Iran as a result of torture and other ill-treatment by the police, in Ankara University Cebeci Campus on September 27, 2022. It is reported that nobody was injured in the attack.

It is learned that the appeal made on September 27, 2022 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by the lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, in order to visit him was not responded.

It is learned that a detention warrant was issued against 30 people including Bedrettin Gündeş, the Head of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Press, Broadcasting and Public Relations Department, on September 28, 2022.
It is learned that at least 8 people (Bedrettin Gündeş, Ömer Korhan, Filiz Özcan, Cahit Argiş, Abdullah Özklavuz, Diyar Turgut, Feyza Kaya and İbrahim Kaya) were detained in house raids through the investigation.

It is learned that 22 people were detained in house raids in Mersin on September 27, 2022, on the grounds of social media posts about the attack on the Police House in Mezitli district of Mersin which killed 1 police officer.

6 people who were detained on the grounds of holding the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government flag at the Amedspor-Bursaspor football match played in Diyarbakır on September 25, 2022; are released by the court on judicial control conditions on September 27, 2022.

The trial of the case against journalist Reyhan Çapan is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 2 on September 27, 2022. The indictment demands sentence for Reyhan Çapan on the charges of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation through press’ and ‘printing and publishing declarations of an illegal organisation’. The court adjourned the trial to February 7, 2023.

The trial of the case against journalist Gençağa Karafazlı, for his news report about harassment allegations against an academic working at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, is held at Rize Penal Court of First Instance No. 4 on September 27, 2022. After defence hearings, the court adjourned the trial to December 20, 2022.

The trial of the case against Agos newspaper’s writer and Armenian pages’ editor Pakrat Estukyan, Cihan Doğan, lawyer Emran Emekçi, Mehmet Nimet Sevim and Demokratik Modernite magazine editor in chief Ramazan Yurttapan, on the grounds of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’ is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 30 on September 28, 2022. The court decided to consolidate the case with the one at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 27.

The trial of the case on the charge of ‘resisting to prevent public duty’ and ‘insulting a public official’ against Füsun Ergün and Gülören Demir, who were forcibly moved away by the gendarmerie on 11 August 2021 from the protest against the lignite mine intended to be established in the Akbelen Forest in the Milas district of Muğla, is held at Aydın Penal Court of First Instance on September 27, 2022. The court decided to send the request of recusation to Muğla Bodrum Heavy Penal Court and adjourned the trial to November 21, 2022.

The concert to be given by musician İrem Derici on September 30, 2022 at the Gastronomy Festival held in Elazığ, cancelled by the organizing committee following the phobic and discriminatory reactions saying “The preference and invitation of someone who embraces and supports deviance does not comply with the moral values of the people of Elazığ, it is against our culture and belief”.
