(08/235) Operations and Attacks…

The Ministry of National Defence announced that 1 soldier (İsmail Şebelek) who has got wounded in a clash between Turkish Armed Forces units and HPG militants in Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government, died in hospital on August 30, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 29, 2021 that, 3 militants died in a clash between Turkish Armed Forces and HPG militants in Metina area of Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government on August 15, 2021.

 It is learned from the news coverage of August 31, 2021 that, 6 militants died in a clash between Turkish Armed Forces and HPG militants in Metina area of Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government on June 11, 2021.

(08/236) Explosion of Unidentified Material in Ağrı…

It is learned that an explosion took place in a house in Hacı Halit village of Diyadin district of Ağrı on August 28, 2021 and killed 1 person (50-year-old Mehmet Turan) and wounded 4 people.

It is claimed in the news reports that the unidentified material that was brought to home by children who found it around Tendürek mountain while shepherding there, caused the explosion.

(08/237) Torture and Ill-Treatment in Prison…

It is learned from the news coverage of August 27, 2021 that, 9 prisoners including Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Leyla Güven in Elazığ Women’s Prison are subjected to disciplinary proceedings for singing Kurdish songs in the open-door area of the prison, which resulted in prevention of communication rights for 1 month and prevention of visit rights as penalty fines.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 27, 2021 that, Islam İverendi, a prisoner in Malatya Akçadağ T Type Prison was subjected to torture and ill-treatment during hospital transfer.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 27, 2021 that, in Samsun Bafra Prison, ill prisoners are referred to hospitals with delay, and the prisoners who reject arbitrary searches during hospital transfers are not taken to hospitals.

(08/239) Detained Person in Urfa…

1 person (Melek Başkale) who was detained in Urfa on August 24, 2021 is arrested by the court on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ on August 27, 2021.

(08/240) HDP Executive on Trial in Şırnak…

The indictment of Silopi Public Prosecutor’s Office against the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak provincial co-chair Sabuha Akdağ, for the press declaration held in Şırnak to protest murders of women, is accepted by Silopi Penal court of First Instance No 1 on August 27, 2021.

The indictment demands sentence for Sabuha Akdağ on the charge of ‘provoking the public to hatred and hostility’.

The first trial will be held on October 15, 2021.

It is learned that the news reports about Turkish Football Federation’s chair of Dispute Committee and Halkbank, published on https://t24.com.trhttps://abcgazetesi.com and https://ajansspor.com  websites are banned to access on the grounds of violation of personal rights by Istanbul Penal Court of Peace No 4 on August 25, 2021.

(08/242) Ban of Events in Hakkari…

Hakkari Governorate made a declaration on August 29, 2021 and announced that all meetings, open-door assemblies, demonstrations, marches, sit-in protests, human chains, op-ed stands, public sessions, any kind of audio-visual activities with mobile audio-visual vehicles, hunger strikes, opening stands, collecting petitions, flying sky lanterns or balloons, commemorations, concerts, festivals, theatre plays, screening shows, firing torches, distributing leaflets, hanging banners and so on are banned for 15 days as of August 30, 2021. All events are banned in Hakkari for 465 days since June 5, 2020.

(08/243) Covid-19 Pandemic…

The Ministry of Health declared that 244 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 18,340 as of August 27, 2021.

The Ministry of Health declared that 245 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 17,912 as of August 28, 2021.

The Ministry of Health declared that 255 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 17,332 as of August 29, 2021.

The Ministry of Health declared that 245 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 19,557 as of August 30, 2021.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 56,458 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 6,366,438 as of August 30, 2021.

On August 30, 2021 dentist Ferhat Alabalık lost his life due to Covid-19 in Diyarbakır.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 28, 2021 that 11 prisoners in Diyarbakır D Type Prison tested positive for Covid-19.
