It is learned from the news coverage of October 25, 2021 that, 2 militants died in a clash between Turkish Armed Forces units and HPG militants in May 2021, in rural areas of Tunceli.

It is learned that a specialised sergeant (T. K.) who was detained on the grounds of sexual assault to two children in Van, is arrested by the court on October 26, 2021.
(10/276) Torture and Ill-Treatment in Prison…
It is learned from the news coverage of October 26, 2021 that, 16 prisoners in Şırnak T Type Prison were subjected to physical violence of the correction officers. It is also stated in the news reports that Mehmet Ali Çevik, a prisoner, were taken to intensive care unit of Şırnak Public Hospital. One prisoner’s (Mahsun Durak) father stated the following to the press: “Their wards were raided by the correction officers two days ago and they wanted to put three wards together, but the prisoners did not want it. And then correction officers came to the wards, face the prisoners towards the wall and said ‘we will put you in order’ to threaten them. They are doing it in most wards. Many prisoners were beaten, and some friends of my son were severely beaten.”
It is learned from the news coverage of October 26, 2021 that, Erdal Emeç, an ill prisoner in Giresun Espiye L Type Prison rejected to be kept in handcuffs during a tomography scan at hospital and so was threatened by the doctor saying “You will fall into my hands soon, I will cut you into pieces. I have your operation documents; you will see I will tear you in pieces.”
It is learned from the news coverage of October 26, 2021 that, political prisoners in Kayseri Bünyan T Type Prison No 2 were put in wards in the same corridor with ordinary prisoners’ wards.

It is learned that the appeal made on October 26, 2021 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers in order to visit him was not responded.

The trial of the case against journalists Osman Akın and Veysi Sarısözen is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 13 on October 26, 2021. The indictment demands sentence for 2 journalists on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’. The court adjourned the trial to February 2, 2022.

It is learned that Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against Etkin News Agency reporter Pınar Gayıp, for her social media posts and interview about specialised sergeant Musa Orhan, who is charged with sexual assault to and causing death of a child, Ipek Er. It is learned that Pınar Gayıp made her official statement on October 26, 2021.

The final trial of the case against Emine Ruken Akça, former Diyarbakır co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 8 on October 26, 2021. The court sentenced Emine Ruken Akça to 7 years and 6 months on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’.

On October 26, 2021, 13 people are detained in Antep, and 10 people are detained in operations covering 7 cities through an Istanbul based investigation.

The Ministry of Health declared that 215 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 29,643 as of October 26, 2021.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 69,985 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 7,870,634 as of October 26, 2021.
