It is learned from the news coverage of January 26, 2022 that, prisoners in Kayseri T Type Prison No 1 were subjected to physical violence of the correction officers.
It is learned from the news coverage of January 26, 2022 that, in Aksaray T Type Prison the wards are full over capacity, the heating systems do not operate regularly and at high levels, prisoners are not given water regularly, and the family phone call right of prisoners is reduced to 10 minutes per week.

The reason of detention was his expressions in the press declaration about the trial which will be held on January 27, 2022, of the case against 48 people who had protested the governorate’s ban on a meeting of the Confederation of Public Employees’ Union (KESK) in 2016.

The trial of the case against journalist Derya Okatan, for the social media posts about Turkish Armed Forces’ military operation to Afrin area of Syria, shared by Etkin News Agency while she was the executive editor of the agency, is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 4 on January 26, 2022. The court adjourned the trial to April 21, 2022.

The trial of the case against Women’s Academy member Figen Aras through the investigation against Rosa Women’s Association is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 10 on January 26, 2022.
The indictment demands sentence for Figen Aras on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’.
After defence hearings the court adjourned the trial to May 11, 2022. Figen Aras was detained on April 5, 2021 and was arrested on April 8, 2021. The court has released her at the first trial on September 22, 2021.

The trial of the case against Hatice Şahin, reporter of Yeni Yaşam newspaper, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 9 on January 26, 2022. The indictment demands sentence for Hatice Şahin on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’.
The court rejected to lift judicial control conditions for Hatice Şahin and adjourned the trial to April 18, 2022.

The final trial of the case against 4 members of the Left Party is held at Artvin Hopa Penal Court of First Instance No 2 on January 26, 2022.
The indictment demands sentence for 4 people on the charge of ‘insulting the President’ by the expressions “One man will go, the people will rule” and “The problem is with the regime, the problem is with this one man’s monstrous regime” in a leaflet they distributed.
The court acquitted 4 defendants.

The trial of the case against police officer H. A., for causing death of Cihan Can, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 11 on January 26, 2022.
It is learned that the court’s demand for the recordings of the inside camera of the vehicle that hit Cihan Can was responded as there were no recordings of the date of incident, by Diyarbakır Provincial Security Directorate.
The court adjourned the trial to May 18, 2022.

The first trial of the case against police officer F. S. and a child (M. K.), for death of Ahmet Çetin Genç, a 17-year-old child in a motorcycle crash, is held at Urfa Heavy Penal Court No 1 on January 26, 2022.
The indictment demands sentence for 2 defendants on the charge of ‘reckless killing’ and ‘reckless injury’.
It is learned that the journalists were not allowed in the courtroom on the grounds of precautions for Covid-19 pandemic. The court rejected to arrest the defendants and adjourned the trial to June 1, 2022.
Ahmet Çetin Genç, has been injured in the motorcycle crash that involves police officers in Urfa on December 31, 2022 and has lost his life in hospital on March 14, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of January 26, 2022 that, an investigation was launched against 26 people, on the charge of ‘insulting the President’ and ‘violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations’, for participating in the event held in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul for 25 November International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women in 2021.
It is learned that 3 people were detained through the investigation on January 26, 2022 and were released after statement procedures on the same day.

Diyarbakır office of DBP is raided by the police, on the grounds of an investigation of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’, on January 26, 2022. It is learned that the office was searched and some of the flags, books, magazines, newspapers and digital material were seized by the police.

The Ministry of Health declared that 188 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 77,434 as of January 26, 2022.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 86,487 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 11,167,927 as of January 26, 2022.
