It is learned from the news coverage of December 26, 2023, that a soldier named O. K. (24) attempted suicide in his house in Nevşehir and was seriously wounded and taken to Nevşehir State Hospital.

It is learned from the news coverage of December 26, 2023, that the general assembly meeting of Çukurova University Women’s Studies Club was attacked by a group reported to be nationalist extremists, and some of the students were wounded during the attack. It is not known how many students were injured.

It is learned from the news coverage of December 26, 2023, that prisoners on hunger strike in Antalya High-Security Prison, demanding an end to the isolation of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue, were subjected to disciplinary proceedings and were sentenced to solitary confinement for 10 days.
It is learned from the news coverage of December 26, 2023, that prisoners in Antep H Type Prison and Antep İslahiye Prison, who were on hunger strike with the same demand, were subjected to disciplinary proceedings and were sentenced to solitary confinement. It is not known how many days of solitary confinement were given to prisoners. It is also stated in the news reports that prisoners were not given water, sugar, salt, carbonate, and vitamin B1.

It is learned from the news coverage of December 26, 2023, that prisoners in Antalya High-Security Prison were subjected to mouth searches and being handcuffed behind their backs during their transfer to the hospital, and prisoners who rejected these practices were taken back to prison without treatment and were prevented from accessing their right to health.

It is learned from the news coverage of December 26, 2023, that the police intervened against the protest of Tülay Çal, who was dismissed from her job by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), demanding to be reinstated at Saraçhane Park in Istanbul. It is learned that Tülay Çal was injured during the intervention and was taken to hospital.

It is learned from the news coverage of December 26, 2023, that Labour Party (EMEP) Istanbul MP İskender Bayhan and 10 students were prevented from entering the campus by the university administration on the 2nd day of the Democratic University Watch at Boğaziçi University. It is reported that 10 students who were prevented from entering the campus since yesterday were suspended without any investigation.

It is learned that 2 people were detained on December 26, 2023, in house raids through the investigation of Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor’s Office on Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Parti) 1st Youth Assembly Congress held in Diyarbakır on December 24, 2023, and the detention period was extended for 1 more day on December 27, 2023. The names of detained people are unknown.

The indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against artist Ali Baran for a social media post he made on November 24, 2019, was accepted by the Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No 7 on December 26, 2023. The indictment demands a sentence for Ali Baran on the charge of ‘insulting the President’. The first hearing of the case will be held on February 1, 2024.

It is learned from the news coverage of December 27, 2023, that the case against Hannan Akgül (90, m), a person living in the Netherlands, on the charge of ‘insult’ for a social media post he made on August 30, 2020, about Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, was held at Istanbul Anadolu Penal Court No 46 on November 2, 2023; and that the court issued a warrant for Hannan Akgül and issued a decision of lack of jurisdiction on the grounds that Fahrettin Altun lives in Ankara.

The Governorate of Bingöl announced on December 26, 2023, that all kinds of gatherings, marches, press declarations, hunger strikes, sit-in protests, rallies, opening stands, setting up tents, distributing leaflets, hanging banners, and similar actions and activities are banned for 6 days from December 26, 2023, until January 1, 2024.
The Governorate of Siirt announced on December 26, 2023, that all events such as demonstrations, marches, press declarations, indoor meetings, hunger strikes, sit-in protests, rallies, opening stands, setting up tents, distributing leaflets, hanging banners, and so on are banned for 6 days from December 26, 2023, until December 31, 2023.

It is learned that the news reports on https://www.gazeteduvar.com.tr and https://www.gercekgundem.com about the relocation of Boğaziçi University Tele-Communication and Informatics Research Center (TETAM) were banned by the Istanbul Penal Court of Peace No 3 on December 20, 2023, on the grounds of violation of personal rights.
It is learned that two content on https://ifade.org.tr, where the President’s lawyer’s name is mentioned, was banned from access on the grounds of violation of personal rights by Istanbul Penal Court of Peace No 6 on December 21, 2023.

The Governorate of Şırnak announced on December 26, 2023, that the Gabar Mountain Region within the borders of the Central District and Güçlükonak District of Şırnak Province had been declared as a temporary special security zone for 15 days between December 27, 2023, and January 10, 2024, and access to the region is banned.

It is learned that two people who were brought to Turkey from Algeria through an operation were detained by the Ankara Provincial Security Directorate Anti-Terrorism Department on December 27, 2023.
1 former naval staff major who was detained in Kocaeli on December 27, 2023, was arrested by the court.
