(08/094) Journalists Detained in Aydın…

According to news reports published on August 26, 2026, 4 journalists (the newspaper’s representative Emin Aydın, managing editor Yeşim Ülker, and reporters İslam Keleş and İrem Delice) were detained on the grounds of a social media post made by the Aydın Denge newspaper’s account regarding the death of a person named Gülşen Erdoğan, which read: “Erdoğan has passed away” It was reported that four journalists (the newspaper’s representative Emin Aydın, managing editor Yeşim Ülker, and reporters İslam Keleş and İrem Delice) were detained on the charge of “publicly disseminating misleading information to the public” and were subsequently released by the magistrate’s court under judicial supervision.

(08/095) Person Detained in Diyarbakır…

It was reported that Ma Music Coordinator Şerko Kaniwar was detained on August 26, 2026, during a roadside checkpoint in the Çınar district of Diyarbakır. Kaniwar, who was detained on the allegation of making organization propaganda during a speech he gave at a festival held in the Tavan district of Bitlis, was released the same day after giving a statement to the Bitlis Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office via SEGBIS.

According to news reports published on August 26, 2026, regarding the discovery of the body of a child named Narin Güran in the rural neighborhood of Tavşantepe in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır after she went missing, “Şeytantepe,” which was produced regarding the discovery of the body of a child named Narin Güran in the rural neighborhood of Tavşantepe in Diyarbakır’s Bağlar district after she went missing. News reports indicated that, as part of the investigation, individuals involved in the filming, production, and financing of the documentary, as well as financial transactions between these individuals, will also be examined.

According to news reports on August 26, 2026, it was learned that musician Haluk Levent’s Instagram account had been blocked under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651 on the grounds of protecting national security and public order.
