(10/264) Operations and Attacks…
It is learned from the news coverage of October 25, 2021 that, 4 militants died in a clash between Turkish Armed Forces units and HPG militants in Avaşin area of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government on October 10, 2021.
The Ministry of National Defence announced that 1 soldier (Emre Yaman) died and 1 soldier got wounded during the military operation in the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government on October 25, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of October 25, 2021 that, a person who was detained on the grounds of social media posts in Bursa on October 18, 2021, was subjected to torture and ill-treatment at Bursa Provincial Security Directorate and was threatened to death by Public Security Department chief saying “I will riddle you with bullets”.

The People’s Law Office declared on October 25, 2021 that, Bengisu Demirel who is kept in Izmir Şakran Prison, was taken to the lawyer meeting room in prison and was forced to be a police informant by persons reported to be police officers. It is also stated that Bengisu Demirel’s letter and petition for criminal complaint about being forced to be an informant were not sent, and her phone conversation with her family was interrupted as she talked about this issue.
It is learned from the news coverage of October 25, 2021 that, prisoners who reject to be forced to sing the national anthem in Şırnak T Type Prison were subjected to torture and ill-treatment of the correction officers and some prisoners got wounded. Hamza Sönmez, one of the prisoners stated the following to his family: “Two wards were seized by the correction officers today. They told us to stand up and sing the national anthem. And we told that we do not accept it. And then we were beaten. I was hit at the head, most of my friends were hit at their noses and other parts. They took us to hospital afterwards, and now we are put in a solitary cell. Some of the friends will have nose surgery tomorrow.”
It is learned from the news coverage of October 25, 2021 that, 4 prisoners (İbrahim Halil Yıldız, Önder Alp, Hüsamettin Sevinç and Mahsun Saruhan) were transferred from Tokat T Type Prison to Tekirdağ T Type Prison under coercion.

It is learned from the news coverage of October 25, 2021 that, İbrahim Karakaş, an employee of Yeni Yaşam newspaper in Adana Kürkçüler F Type Prison was not referred to hospitals as he rejects to be forced to in-mouth search and being handcuffed during medical examinations.

On October 25, 2021, the private security guards intervened the students having a sit-in in front of the rectorate office to protest new rector appointment to Boğaziçi University by the President. It is learned that nobody was detained.

On October 15, 2021, 91 people have been detained in operations covering 15 cities through an Istanbul based investigation. 1 of them (Erdal Gündoğdu) is arrested by the court on October 25, 2021. 4 people (Yalçın Güvenin, Ulaş İnci, Doğan Karataştan and Ufuk Gündoğdu) are released on judicial control conditions. The number of arrestees through this investigation raised to 28 while 54 people are released on judicial control conditions.

On October 21, 2021, 17 people including the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Torbalı district co-chair Hüsnü Bitirmiş and HDP Karabağlar district co-chair Şerafettin Yetim have been detained in house raids in Izmir, on the grounds of social media posts. 13 of them are released after statement procedures on October 25, 2021. 4 people were released after statement procedures on the same day.

Tunceli Governorate made a declaration on October 25, 2021 and announced that all outdoor meetings, demonstrations, assemblies, protests, sit-in protests, hunger strikes, opening stands, collecting petitions, concerts, festivals, distributing leaflets, hanging banners, firing and carrying torches, conferences, panel talks and so on are banned for 15 days as of October 25, 2021.

On October 25, 2021, 7 people are detained in operations covering 7 cities through an Istanbul based investigation and 3 people are detained in an alleged attempt to illegally flee abroad in Edirne.
(10/273) Covid-19 Pandemic…
The Ministry of Health declared that 232 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 27,663 as of October 25, 2021.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 69,770 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 7,840,991 as of October 25, 2021.
