News reports on August 26, 2025, revealed that Yasin Kaya, an inmate held at Şırnak T-Type Prison, had his hospital transfer canceled because he refused to wear slippers while going to the hospital.

Prof. Dr. Bengi Başer, a cardiologist working at a private hospital in Istanbul, made racist and discriminatory statements in a post on his social media account, saying, “Why don’t you spend the energy you use to exterminate street animals on reforming these human sub-species!…” Following the backlash, he later posted the following on his account: “This post is directed at the third-rate individuals who attacked a woman’s car, stabbed Minguzzi, harassed women on the streets, and imposed their primitive sense of justice with sticks, thereby disturbing society.”
