On August 25, 2022, a prisoner named Fırat Çağlayan (28) died in Aydın E Type Prison. It is claimed in the news reports that Fırat Çağlayan killed himself. It is learned that Aydın Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation about Çağlayan’s death.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 25, 2022 that, the Ankara Civil Court of First Instance No. 12 dismissed the case against the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Group Deputy Chair and Manisa MP Özgür Özel, which was opened upon the President’s complaint over his expressions “the mere parody of dictator” demanding 250,000 Turkish Liras for non-pecuniary damage. It is learned that the court stated that “It is considered that the President is in a position to show a higher level of tolerance towards statements containing severe political criticism against him than those who are not in the same situation.”

It is learned from the news coverage of August 26, 2022 that, Edremit Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against CHP Mersin MP Ali Mahir Başarır, CHP former Balikesir MP Mehmet Tüm, CHP’s former Istanbul chair Murat Akbaş, the Workers Party of Turkey (TİP) chair Erkan Baş and journalist Yavuz Selim Demirağ, on the charges of ‘insulting the President’ and ‘inciting hatred and hostility among public or degrading the public’ by their speeches at the book fair in Edremit district of Balıkesir.

It is learned that Istanbul Anadolu Penal Court of Peace No. 10 decided on August 24, 2022 to remove the name of a judge mentioned in the news about the “Iron Fist” operation against companies that inflicted 25 billion liras in damage to the public with fake invoices through companies in the iron and steel industry, published on https://www.cumhuriyet.com.tr, https://halktv.com.tr, https://www.birgun.net websites.
