It is learned that the appeal made on August 25, 2021 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers in order to visit their client was not responded.

It is learned that Nusaybin Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation against Mezopotamya News Agency reporter Ahmet Kanbal on the charge of “turning a counterterrorism official into a target” in a news report he made. It is learned that Ahmet Kanbal made his official statement through the investigation at Mardin Provincial Directorate of Security on August 25, 2021.

On August 25, 2021, a 73-year-old cancer patient Saadet Özen is detained during a road check in Birecik district of Urfa, for she has not paid the penalty fine that was imposed on her earlier. Saadet Özen is taken to the prison first, and is released after the penalty fine was paid on the same day.

On August 25, 2021, 11 people are detained in Edirne in an alleged attempt to illegally flee to Greece.

The Ministry of Health declared that 217 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 19,970 as of August 25, 2021.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 55,212 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 6,273,681 as of August 25, 2021.
