(04/201) 14 May 14, 2023 General Elections…
The police intervened in the press declaration held in Sancaktepe district of Istanbul on April 25, 2023 by the Greens and Left Future Party (YSP) to protest detention of politicians, journalists, lawyers, artists and other people through a Diyarbakır based investigation, and detained 2 people.
It is learned that YSP’s Kocaeli deputy candidate Ayten Dönmez was detained in Istanbul on April 26, 2023. The reason for detention is unknown.

It is learned that the appeal made on April 25, 2023 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by the lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, in order to visit him was not responded.
(04/203) CHP Executive on Trial in Istanbul…
The final trial of the case against the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Istanbul provincial chair Canan Kaftancıoğlu, for saying “We will send a dictator out of this country through democracy” is held at Istanbul Bakırköy Heavy Penal Court No. 24 on April 26, 2023. The court acquitted Canan Kaftancıoğlu.
(04/204) Journalist on Trial in Ankara…
The first trial of the case against journalist Eylül Deniz Yaşar, for a press declaration held in 2017 and a social media post which is claimed to be shared by her, is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No. 4 on April 25, 2023. The indictment demands sentence for Eylül Deniz Yaşar on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’. After defence hearings the court adjourned the trial to June 22, 2023.
(04/205) Police Raid to Production Agency in Diyarbakır…
It is learned that the office of Piya Production in Diyarbakır was raided by the police on April 25, 2023 through a Diyarbakır based investigation and that the computers and other equipment were seized after the search.
(04/206) Detentions and Arrests in Alleged Link to Coup Attempt…
It is learned that 7 people were detained in operations covering 4 cities through an Istanbul based investigation on April 26, 2023.
