(03/100) Ill Prisoner Died in Prison…

It is learned that Mehmet Edip Taşar, an ill prisoner in Istanbul Marmara (Silivri) L Type Prison No 5, died in Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital on March 24, 2026.

(03/101) People Subjected to Torture and Ill-Treatment in Istanbul…

On March 24, 2026, a child named N.E. (17) and his father were subjected to physical violence of the police in a house raid in Istanbul.

(03/102) Detained People for Newroz Celebrations…

Through the investigation launched after the Newroz celebration in Istanbul, 38 people are detained on the allegation of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ during house raids in Istanbul on March 24, 2026.

Through the investigation initiated after the Newroz celebration in Diyarbakır, 6 people are detained on the allegations of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ on March 24, 2026 in Diyarbakır.

Through the investigation initiated after Newroz celebration in Izmir, 22 people are detained on the allegations of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ during house raids in Izmir on March 24, 2026.

Through the investigation initiated after the Newroz celebration in Mardin, 9 people are detained on the allegation of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ during house raids in Mardin on March 24, 2026.

Directorate General of Security declared that a total of 170 people were detained in Aydın, Batman, Gaziantep, İstanbul, İzmir, Kocaeli, Mardin, Şanlıurfa, Van, Diyarbakır, Antalya, Aydın, Batman, Gaziantep, İstanbul, İzmir, Kocaeli, Mardin, Şanlıurfa, Van, Diyarbakır and Antalya between March 17 and March 24, 2026 through investigations related to Newroz celebrations across Turkey.

(03/103) Association Executive on Trial in Van…

The first trial of the case against Yusuf Dündar, Co-Chair of Association for Solidarity with the Disappeared in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA-DER), started on March 23, 2026 at Van Penal Court of First Instance No 8. The indictment demands sentence for Yusuf Dündar on the charge of ‘resisting the police’. The court released Yusuf Dündar and adjourned the trial to a later date.

Yusuf Dündar was arrested on January 25, 2026.

(03/104) Cartoonist on Trial…

The trial of the case against cartoonist Doğan Pehlivan, on the grounds of his social media posts, continued on March 24, 2026 at Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No 36. The indictment demands sentence for Doğan Pehlivan on the charge of “insulting the President”. The court decided to lift the judicial control measure of signature obligation for Doğan Pehlivan and to continue the judicial control measure of ban on leaving the country and adjourned the trial to July 14, 2026.
