(12/177) Attacks against the Curfew Protests and Extra-judicial Executions…
Curfew and blockade in Sur district of Diyarbakır reached its 13thday as of 23 December 2015.
Several demonstrations were staged on 22 December 2015 in Diyarbakır to protest in the operations and the damages in the city.
Security Forces attacked all the demonstrations and used real bullets to disperse the crowd. Şiyar Baran (13) was shot to death in Seyrantepe quarter.
S.K. (10-boy) was also shot at leg and wounded in the same quarter. F.N. (16-boy) was shot at belly and heavily wounded. They were hospitalised. F.N. had an operation for critical health condition.
Ferhat Sümerli was shot and wounded in Ofis quarter.
A child was hit and wounded with a tear gas canister during the police intervention on Gevran Avenue in Yenişehir district.
Recep Çanak (26) was shot at back and wounded in Bağlar district. M.V.K. (17) was reportedly wounded when something exploded in her/his hand.
Davut Özer (15) who was heavily wounded when the police opened random fire against a protest staged on 22 December 2015 in Tarsus district of Mersin died in the hospital.
A crowded group of persons started a march from Şırnak to Cizre and Silopi districts to protest in the curfews and operations spent the night on Cudi Mountain. The group had to return to Şırnak on 22 December 2015 for being attacked with bombs. The police intervened the group in Şırnak and detained 20 persons.
The police also attacked a protest staged in 9th September University campus in İzmir and detained 12 students under beatings.

Curfew and blockade in Nusaybin district of Mardin reached its 6th day as of 23 December 2015 and curfew was declared on 18 December 2015 for 7th time.
The attacks of Security Forces continued on 22 December 2015. Medeni Orak (45) and an unidentified person who were shot when the police opened fire in Fırat quarter died of blood loss on the grounds that the police did not allow the ambulances to enter the quarter.
S.T. (12-boy) was shot at leg and wounded while playing in front of his home in Cudi quarter.

Curfew and blockade in Cizre district of Şırnak reached its 10th day as of 23 December 2015 and the attacks of the Security Forces continued.
On 22 December 2015, Doğan İşçi/İşi (32) was killed with shrapnel pieces when her/his house in Nuh quarter was shot by a tank. Mehmet Tekin was shot to death on 22 December 2015 when Security Forces opened fire in the same quarter.
Mehmet Saçan was shot to death when Security Forces opened fire in Cudi quarter.
Emine Duman (75) had a heart attack and lost her life due to her house in Cudi quarter was hit closely by cannonballs.

Curfew in Sur district of Diyarbakır reached its 13th day as of 23 December 2015. Serhat Doğan (19) was shot to death when Security Forces opened fire on 22 December 2015 in Hasırlı quarter. 3 persons were also wounded in the same quarter with shrapnel pieces.

Curfew and blockade in Silopi district of Şırnak reached its 10th day as of 23 December 2015.
Mahmut Oruç (28) was shot at chest, Cindi Algur (45) at back and the person with the first name Halit at foot when Security Forces opened fire on 22 December 2015 in Nuh quarter.

A soldier and 2 militants died during an armed clash that broke out on 22 December 2015 in Sehi Forest in Bitlis.
A police officer died and 2 police officers were wounded when an armoured police vehicle was attacked with a rocket launcher on 22 December 2015 in Şırnak.
Police officer Atilla Güneş (47) who was heavily wounded during an armed clash in Cizre district of Şırnak died on 22 December 2015 in Ankara.
(12/183) Torture and Ill-treatment in Custody in İstanbul…
8 members of Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK) Youth Assembly and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Youth Coordination who occupied a tramon 17 December 2015 in İstanbul to protest in the recent curfews organised a press conference on 22 December 2015 and announced that they were subjected torture and ill-treatment in custody.
HDK and HDP members were reportedly beaten in police vehicle and custody, forced to naked body search and tell about Turkish history. They also made an official complaint against the police officers.

24 persons who were detained on 20 December 2015 in Şişli district of İstanbul while selling the magazine Yürüyüş were reportedly subjected torture and ill-treatment in police vehicle and at Şişli and İstanbul Security Directorates. The detainees were beaten and assaulted in custody, they were also forced to listen military songs.

Çağlayan (İstanbul) Penal Court of First Instance No 2 continued on 22 December 2015 to hear the case against Arif Koşar, publisher of the daily Evrensel, and managing director of the paper Vural Nasuhbeyoğlu launched in connection with the news appeared in the paper concerning the killing of Ali İsmail Korkmaz.
The indictment wants the defendants to be sentenced according to the Article 299 TPC for “insulting the State President”.
The defendants testified at the hearing to the effect that they would have committed crime by not making the news.
The exempted the defendants Arif Koşar and Vural Nasuhbeyoğlu from attending the hearings and adjourned the hearing to 19 April 2016.

The police intervened a group of Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) member who staged a demonstration to protest in the killings of Şirin Öter and Yeliz Erbay during a house raid on 22 December 2015 in İstanbul. 35 persons were detained during the police intervention.

Doğubayazıt (Ağır) Heavy Penal Court concluded on 22 Decembe 2015 to hear the case against 6 persons launched for visiting the graves of PKK militants on 5 October 2014 in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı.
After the final defence as to the accusations, the court sentenced Doğubayazıt Co-Mayor Murat Rohat Özbay, Bülent Erşik, Talat Aktaş, Ali Çakan, Bircan Burç and Mehmet Karadağ to 1 year and 8 months’ imprisonment for “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”.

Cabbar Taş, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair for Derecik town in Şemdinli district of Şırnak province, was detained on 19 December 2015 in Derecik. He was arrested on 22 December 2015 on the allegations of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”.
The police and gendarmerie conducted house raids on 22 December 2015 in Kızıltepe and Mazıdağı districts of Mardin and in Kocaeli. At least 35 persons were reportedly detained during the operations.
Mazlum Dinç ve paralysed Serdar Yıldırım who were among 4 persons detained during house raids in Derik district of Mardin were arrested on 22 December 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
Maaz Babat, Ahmet Turgut and Diyar Kaya who were detained during operations in Van were arrested on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
Burhan Karatay, Mustafa Taysun and Murat Şahin who were detained during house raids in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı were arrested on 22 December 2015 on the allegations of “aiding an illegal organisation”.
Hasan Sefa, Egit Derinçay, Ali Oğur, Hasan Çobaz and Hüseyin Çobaz who were among 15 persons detained during house raids in Halfeli town of Ağrı were arrested on 22 December 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
2 members of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) were detained on 22 December 2015 in Siirt.
