It is learned from the news coverage of August 23, 2023 that the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) members Mihriban Aslan and Hatice Özaslan who were detained in Antep, were subjected to strip search at the Anti-Terror Department of Antep Provincial Security Directorate.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 22, 2023 that the letters of journalist Derya Ren kept in Diyarbakır Women’s Prison, addressing the Human Rights Association, the Lawyers’ for Freedom Association and the Diyarbakır Bar Association regarding the right violations in prison, were seized on the grounds of ‘damaging the institution’s reputation’.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 23, 2023 that the release of the prisoner named Sait Gürkan, who was held in Aksaray T Type Prison and has been in prison for 30 years, was postponed for 6 months by the Prison Administration and Observation Board on the grounds that he did not show any remorse.
It is learned from the news coverage of August 23, 2023 that the release of the prisoner named Mehmet Hüseyin Öz, who was held in Antep H Type Prison, was postponed for 6 months by the Prison Administration and Observation Board on the grounds that “the potential for re-offending is too high”.

Orhan Çelebi, Peri town co-mayor in Tunceli who was released from prison on August 11, 2023, was arrested once again on August 23, 2023 as the prosecutor’s objection was accepted.

The Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) members Mihriban Aslan and Hatice Özaslan were detained in Antep on August 23, 2023 on the grounds of street writing about the Suruç massacre.

It is learned that the police prevented and threatened to detained Artı Gerçek and Mezopotamya News Agency reporters who were following the justice watch of Emine Şenyaşar and his Greens and Left Future Party (YSP) Urfa MP son Ferit Şenyaşar, held outside of the Ministry of Justice in Ankara on August 23, 2023. Emine Şenyaşar’s husband Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar and her two sons Adil Şenyaşar and Celal Şenyaşar were killed after a quarrel took between the Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy candidate İbrahim Halil Yıldız, his guards and the local shopkeepers in Suruç district of Urfa on June 14, 2018.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 23, 2023 that Diyarbakır’s Ergani district co-mayor Ahmet Kaya was not re-instated to his post although he was acquitted of the lawsuit filed against him with the allegation of ‘being a member of a terrorist organization’ as a result of the investigations that were the reason for his suspension. It is learned that the reason for him not being re-instated was a new investigation opened within the same scope.
The acquittal of the Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 8 became final on April 7, 2023 due to the absence of an appeal.
