(03/225) Person Shot by Police in Diyarbakir…
A person whose car was stopped at a check point in Yenisehir, Diyarbakir was shot by the police on 23 March 2017 when he reportedly started running away. According to the news appeared in press, the injured person was taken to a police vehicle.
(03/226) Person Killed by the Police in Diyarbakir Newroz Celebration…
The person who was killed by the police in Diyarbakir Newroz Celebration is Kemal Kurkut, a student of Inonu University. According to the statement of Diyarbakir Governorate, he was a suicide bomber but only books were found in his bag.

2 soldiers were killed and 2 were injured when PKK militants attacked the positions of the security forces in Gerki Tepe at Cukurca district of Hakkari.
Following the curfew declared in 10 villages of Nusaybin on 20 March 2017, a military operation started at Bagok Mountain.
(03/228) High School Student Kidnapped in Ankara…
According to the news appeared in press, T.Y. (17, f), a member of DEV-LIS, was kidnapped by persons who had introduced themselves as police officials. She was put into a white Doblo. She was harassed and threatened at the vehicle.
Again, another high school student named B.G. claimed that he was also kidnapped, threatened and insulted.
(03/229) Torture and Other Ill Treatment in Prison…
5 prisoners were transferred from Siirt E Type Prison to Bandırma T Type Prison against their will and demand. Names of the prisoners who were transferred are as follows: Metin Kılıçaslan, Bilal Şen, Şakir Dalkılıç, Serhat Çiçek, Maruf Kul.
3 prisoners were transferred from Erzincan t Type Prison to Malatya E Type Prison for being on hunger strike. The names of the prisoners who were transferred are as follows: Yılmaz Günay, Salih Kaya, Murat Bakır.
The Gumushane E Type Prison administration did not give the Kurdish poem book Sengal to Adnan Cakir on the grounds that the book is written in “an unknown and incomprehensible” language.
Again in Gumushane E Type Prison, the visit duration is reduced to 15 minutes; the social, sportive rights of the prisoners are also restricted by the prison administration.

Former Co-Chair of DBP Emine Ayna was detained on 23 March 2017 in Diyarbakır during a house raid. Ayna was taken to Diyarbakir Police Headquarter.
(03/232) Newroz Celebrations…
Abdullah Ayav, the singer of Koma Denge Amara, who was detained after the Newroz celebration in Kiziltepe on 21 March 2017, was arrested on 23 March 2017 for ‘making propaganda of an illegal organization.’
The police forces intervened on 22 March 2017 the Newroz celebration at Antalya. 20 persons were reportedly detained.
3 persons were detained on 23 March 2017 in Mus for participating the Newroz celebrations. The detainees were taken to Mus Police Headquarter.

24 persons, who were detained on 16 and 17 March 2017 in Erzurum, were brought to court on 23 March 2017. 16 persons were released with a judicial control condition. 8 persons were arrested for ‘being a member of an illegal organization.’ The names of the persons who were arrested are as follows: Ramazan Alaca, Aydın Özdemir, Yavuz Karabakan, Murat Karabakan, Sevdin Ağır, Medeni Özmen, Servet Koç and Mustafa Gül.
23 persons were detained on 23 March in Agri for making propaganda of an illegal organization. The detainees were taken to Agri Police Headquarter.
15 persons were detained on 22 March 2017 in Tunceli. 9 of them were brought to court. 6 persons were arrested for ‘being a member of an illegal organization.’ The names of the persons who were arrested are as follows: İbrahim Kasum, Berna Çelebi, Bedri Akyol, Hayrettin Baba, Yaşar Ateş, Ayhan Çelik.

9 persons who were detained on 20 March 2017 in Bingol was brought to court on 23 March 2017. 4 persons were arrested for ‘being a member of an illegal organization.’ The names of the persons who were arrested are as follows: HDP Co-Chairs for Bingol Zerrin Bayraktar and Mahmut Bozan, Co-Chair of Bingol Branch of Mesopotamia Cooperation, Solidarity with the Families Who Had Lost Their Relatives Association (MEYA-DER) Cengiz Turhan, former Chair of Bingol Branch of Egitim-Sen.
25 persons who were detained in Mersin were brought to court on 23 March 2017. 4 persons were arrested for ‘making propaganda of an illegal organization.’
12 persons were detained on 22 March 2017 in Batman’s Sason district during house raids. The detainees were taken to Gendarme District Headquarter. The names of the detainees are as follows: Recep Toparlı, İzzet Aydın, Mahir Aslan, Cuma Sarkık, Aydın Başut, Yusuf Uçar, Nayıf Aksay, Erol Aksay, Agit Aslan, Ömer Aslan, Azad Aslan and Mehmet Çaçan.
68 persons, including children, who were detained in Adana were brought to court and 6 persons were arrested for ‘making propaganda of an illegal organization.’
7 persons were detained on 22 March 2017 in Antalya. The detainees were taken to Antalya Police Headquarter.

Ozlem Yuzgec was arrested on 22 March 2017 in Maras for ‘using ByLock.’ Ozlem Ozgec is the wife of Mehmet Yuzgec, one of the prosecutors of 17/25 December Corruption Operation.
14 persons were detained on 23 March 2017 in a Balıkesir centered police operation for ‘using ByLock.’
11 persons were arrested on 23 March 2017 in Ordu for ‘using ByLock.’
10 police officials were detained on 23 March 2017 in a Sivas centered police operation.
(03/235) HDP MPs on Trial…
Mersin Heavy Penal Court No 2 continued on 23 March 2017 hearing the case against HDP Co-Chair Figen Yuksekdag. The indictment wants the defendant to be sentenced for ‘making propaganda of an illegal organization.’ The prosecutor presented the final opinion and wanted the Yuksekdag to be sentenced at the upper limit. According to the news appeared in press, the SEGBİS connection was closed by the head judge while Yuksekdag was making her defense against the final opinion of the prosecutor. The hearing was adjourned to 20 April 2017.
Penal Department No 3 of Gaziantep Regional Courts of Justice approved the 4 years, 8 months and 7 days imprisonment given by Diyarbakir Heavy Penal Court No 2 concerning HDP Diyarbakir PM Nursel Aydogan.
Adana Penal Court of First Instance No 21 continued on 22 March 2017 hearing the case against HDP Adana MP Meral Danıs Bestas. Bestas did not participate the hearing. The court decided that Bestas will participate the next hearing via SEGBİS. The hearing was adjourned to 15 May 2017.
Urfa Penal Court of First Instance No 7 continued on 22 March 2017 hearing the case against HDP Urfa MP Ibrahim Ayhan. Ayhan did not participate the hearing. The court issued a warrant concerning Ayhan, even though he had given statement in this case and adjourned the hearing.

Penal Department No 16 of Court of Appeals reversed on 22 March 2017 the judgment concerning Van KCK Main Trial on the grounds that the right of defense of the defendants was not exercised, some activities which are not the activities of the illegal organisation were considered as the activities of the illegal organization. There are 13 defendants in the case, including the Metropolitan Co-Mayor of Van Bekir Kaya.

According to the news appeared in press, students of Kars Kafkas University who were dancing the halay with the songs of “No” campaign were attacked by a group on 23 March 2017. Police reportedly detained some students who were campaigning for “No.”
Sason District Electoral Board relocate the ballot boxes of 2 villages upon the demand of District Gendarme Command.
Police intervened on 23 March 2017 the students of Yildiz Technical University who had gathered for “We are Cycling for No” activity at Davutpasa Campus of the University. 20 students were reportedly detained.
