It is learned that the appeal made on June 21, 2022 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by the lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, in order to visit him was not responded.

(06/247) Police Intervention Against “I Want My Job Back” Protest in Ankara…

The police intervened the press declaration which were made within the scope of “I Want My Job Back Protest” in front of Human Rights Monument in Yüksel Street on June 21, 2022 and forced people away from the monument by using physical violence.

The police intervened the press declaration of Şişli Municipality workers in front of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Ankara on June 21, 2022 and forced people away from the building by using physical violence.

(06/249) Private Security Intervention to a Protest in Istanbul…

Private security units intervened in the press declaration held by the Campus Witches on June 21, 2022 at the Çağlayan Courthouse in Istanbul in order to protest the court’s verdict in the case of the murder of a woman named Pınar Gültekin by a man named Cemal Metin Avcı in 2020, and forced the participants out of the courthouse by using physical violence. 4 people who were detained in the intervention were released on the same day.

(06/250) Interventions and Bans on Pride Month Events…

The police prevented the picnic that was to be held as a part of LGBTI+ Pride Month events, in Maçka Park in Beşiktaş district of Istanbul on June 21, 2022, on the grounds of the ban decision of the district governor’s office. It is learned that the police forced the people who came to the park to attend the picnic out of the park.

The District Governor’s Office in Datça district of Muğla made a statement on June 21, 2022, and stated that “All activities organized by various non-governmental organizations under the name of LGBTI such as movie screening, theatre, panel talks, exhibition, march, press release, and so on which imply some social sensitivities” will be banned for 30 days as of June 20, 2022, “in order to ensure peace and security, personal immunity, security regarding disposition and public well-being”.

(06/251) Former MP on Trial…

The final trial of the case against the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) former Ankara MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, for his expressions about the President, is held at Diyarbakır Penal Court of First Instance No 12 on June 21, 2022. The court sentenced Sırrı Süreyya Önder to 10 months and deferred the announcement of the verdict.

(06/252) Journalist and HDP and DBP Executives on Trial in Istanbul…

The trial of the case against 19 people including journalist Haydar Ergül and the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and HDP executives, is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 22 on June 22, 2022. The court adjourned the trial.

(06/253) Journalist on Trial in Izmir…

The trial of the case against journalist Evrim Kepenek, for a news report about a person on trial for child abuse, is held at Izmir Selçuk Penal court of First Instance on June 21, 2022. The court adjourned the trial to November 1, 2022.

(06/254) Proceedings Against Parliamentary Members…

It is learned from the news coverage of June 21, 2022 that, 11 proceedings demanding lift of impunity of 11 parliamentary members are submitted to Grand National Assembly.

Parliamentary members subjected to proceedings are:

It is learned that the contents of 257 websites regarding the dismissal of 5 prosecutors from the profession by the decision of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors are banned the access on the grounds of violation of personal rights by Ankara Barı Penal Court of Peace No 2 on June 10, 2022.

(06/256) Suspended Prosecutor…

It is learned from the news coverage of June 21, 2022 that a prosecutor (İ. L.) in Izmir is suspended from duty by the 2nd Chamber of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors.

(06/257) Detentions and Arrests in Alleged Link to Coup Attempt…

On June 21, 2022, 31 people are detained in operations covering 16 cities through an Izmir based investigation and 13 people are detained in operations covering 15 cities through a Konya based investigation.
