Anti-Terror police conducted a house raid on 22 December 2015 in Gaziosmanpaşa district of İstnbul in connection with a “MLKP/FESK (Marxist Leninist Communist Party / Armed Forces of the Poor and Oppressed) Investigation”. Şirin Öter and Yeliz Erbay were killed during the raid
An armed clash was allegedly broke out during the raid and 4 police officers were wounded.

Curfew and blockade in Cizre district of Şırnak reached its 9th day as of 22 December 2015 and the attacks of the Security Forces continued.
Cahide Çıkal was shot to death on 21 December 2015 when Security Forces opened fire against the house.

Curfew and blockade in Silopi district of Şırnak reached its 9th day as of 22 December 2015.
Mehmet Mete Kutluk (11) was killed on 21 December 2015 when a house in Karşıyaka quarter was attacked by a tank.
Ömer Sayan (70) was killed in the garden of his house in Huh quarter when Security Forces opened fire.
According to the news appeared in the press on 21 December 2015, Yusuf Nas (55) was wounded when Security Forces opened fire. He was reportedly going to the house of his sibling to help them to extinguish fire caused by a tank fire.

Bekir Mihemed (36) was killed when military troops opened fire against a group of persons trying to pass the border from Afrin canton of Rojava to Kilis province in Turkey on 21 December 2015.

A soldier was killed and 3 soldiers were wounded during an armed clash on 21 December 2015 in Sur district of Diyarbakır.
2 soldiers died and 8 soldiers were wounded when a bomb exploded during the passage of a military vehicle nearby Ölek village of Bitlis.
A police officer was reportedly wounded when a police team was attacked on 21 December 2015 in Dargeçit district of Mardin.
(12/168) JİTEM (Diyarbakır)/ Musa Anter Case…
Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 6 continued on 21 December 2015 to hear the gendarmerie intelligence service JİTEM case against 16 defendants including 5 on-the-run defendants launched in connection with the killings of 26 persons including Musa Anter in Diyarbakır and neighbouring provinces. The case was transferred to Ankara for alleged security reasons.
After the presentations of the lawyers, the court rejected to release the only remanded defendant Hamit Yıldırım to be tried without remand and accepted the demand of the lawyers to hear Kutlu Savaş, Orhan Taşanlar and Mehmet Eymür as witnesses. The court adjourned the hearing to 14 March 2016.
(12/169) Vartinis Massacre Case…
Kırıkkale Heavy Penal Court continued on 21 December 2015 to hear the case against Hasköy Gendarmerie Station Commander Captain B.K., Infantry First Lieutenant H.A., Gökyazı Gendarmerie Station Commander Master-Sergeant T.N. and Special Operations Division Deputy Director Ş.U. who were on duty on 17 May 1993 when house of a family had been set to fire in Vartinis (Altınova) town of Korkut district in Muş on the grounds that the family was “aiding and abetting an illegal organisation”.
Nasır Öğüt (43), his wife Eşref Öğüt (43), their children Sevim Öğüt (13), Sevda Öğüt (12), Şakir Öğüt (11), Mehmet Şirin Öğüt (8), Cihat Öğüt, Aycan Öğüt (1), and Cihan Öğüt (4) had died during the fire and the indictment wants the defendants to be sentenced 9 times to life imprisonment. The indictment was prepared by Public Prosecutor in Muş, but the case was transferred to Kırıkkale for alleged security reasons.
In his opinion as to the accusations, the Public Prosecutor wanted at the previous hearing of the case the defendants to be sentenced for “killing by omission”. Since the lawyers made excuses not to attend the hearing, the court adjourned the hearing to 1 March 2016.
(12/170) Hasan Ferit Gedik Case…
Anadolu (İstanbul) Heavy Penal Court No 10 continued on 21 December 2015 to hear the case concerning the killing of Hasan Ferit Gedik on 30 September 2013 during the armed attack by drug dealers against the members of People’s Front (Halk Cephesi) in Gülsuyu quarter of Maltepe district in İstanbul. 35 defendants including 8 remanded defendants are on trial for being involved in the incidents on 28-29-30 September 2013.
The court rejected at the close hearing the demand of defence lawyers for sound analysis of defendants’ voices and adjourned the hearing to 29 February 2016.
(12/171) Mustafa Başnamlı Case…
According to the news appeared on the press on 21 November 2015, Ankara Administrative Court No 10 concluded to hear the compensation case against Ministry of Interior Affairs by Mustafa Başnamlı who was shot at his face by the police with a tear gas canister during Gezi Park demonstrations in Ankara.
The court rejected the case on the grounds that there were no evidences in the case file clearly proving that the wound was caused by a tear gas canister.
(12/172) Journalist on Trial on the allegations of Insulting the State President…
Ankara Penal Court of First Instance No 43 started on 21 December 2015 to hear the case against sight-disabled journalist Cüneyt Arat living in Adana launched on charges of “insulting the State President”. The case was launched for the twits Cüneyt Arat shared on the internet.
After the identification and testimony of the defendant, the court adjourned the hearing to a later date.

B.S. (16) whose leg was broken when an armoured police vehicle ran over her/him during a demonstration staged in Yüreğir district of Adana to protest in the curfews in Sur, Dargeçit, Nusaybin, Cizre, Silopi districts was arrested on 21 December 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation” and “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”.

The police intervened a group of persons on 21 December 2015 in Van who were marching with the demand of Abdullah Öcalan’s release. 20 persons were detained and 10 persons were wounded during the police intervention.
(12/175) Mayor and Political Party Executives on Trial…
Hınıs (Erzurum) Heavy Penal Court accepted on 21 December 2015 the indictment against Hınıs Co-Mayor Hasan Basri Fırat and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Chair for the district Emin Aydın. The police conducted raids on 13 October 2015 in Hınıs district of Erzurum and detained Hasan Basri Fırat and Emin Aydın. They were arrested on 14 October 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
The indictment wants the defendants to be sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of “disrupting the unity and territorial integrity of the state” by “being member of PKK’s legal system commission”. Hınıs (Erzurum) Heavy Penal Court will start to hear the case on 24 December 2015.
(12/176) Operations throughout Turkey…
The police prevented Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) members on 21 December 2015 in Dİyarbakır when they were distributing leaflets for the march on 22 December 2015 to protest in the curfews. 4 persons including HDP Co-Chair for Yenişehir district were detained during the police intervention.
The police intervened a group of persons who wanted to march on 21 December 2015 to Sefa quarter of Dargeçit district in Mardin where curfew was imposed. Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair for Dargeçit district Abdurrahman Arslan was detained during the intervention.
The police conducted raids on 21 December 2015 in İstanbul against the houses of HDP and Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK) activists and detained 17 persons including 10 children.
4 persons in Varto district of Muş, 6 persons in Derik district of Mardin, 5 persons in Antalya, 13 persons in Hakkari and Yüksekova district were detained during the house raids conducted on 21 December 2015.
DBP executive for Şemdinli district İsa Demircan Cabbar was detained on 21 December 2015 in Şemdinli district of Hakkari.
Reis Sümbül was detained on 21 December 2015 in Karayazı district of Erzurum. He was called to the Court House to testify in connection with an incident. Reis Sümbül was arrested on the same day on the allegations of “aiding an illegal organisation”.
The union in education sector Eğitim-Sen Head Quarters decided not to attend classes for one hour on 21 December 2015 to protest in the negative impact of the curfews on the education system. 13 teachers who followed the decision in Silvan district of Diyarbakır were detained.
Danyal Nas, İbrahim Elgil and Cihat Kızıktaş who were among 18 persons detained during operations conducted against HDP and DBP in Tarsus district of Mersin were arrested on 21 December 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
